It was a little predictable at some points, but overall enough was a mystery, which lead to great suspense.
The audience reaction was the best, like when MAJOR SPOILERHarrison said his real name was Khan. The Trekkies in the audience lost their shit. And when Spock called Spock Prime from the original series and asked if he ever fought a man named Khan, the audience laughed because Prime's reaction even though it was a series moment.
No I mean that they say that even moreso than the 2009 movie, it's becoming just a generic space action movie. And then they get annoyed that the movie tries to have really superficial "call outs" to the fans that don't mean anything.
