In the not too distant future, on a tired empty Foundry, Grifball has become routine. Grifball has changed. Its no longer about friends, goofing around, or fun. Its a endless series of matches played by diehards and nazis. Grifball and its consumption of time has become a well-oiled machine. Grifball has changed. Stat tracked players, carry stat tracked weapons, use stat tracked gear. Captains inside their teams push and regulate their abilities. Hammer control. Information control. Emotional control. Grifball field control. Everything is monitored and kept under control. Grifball has changed. The age of pleasure has become the age of control. All in the name of gaining victory over other rabid teams. And he who controls the Grifball field controls fame... Grifball has changed. When the playing field is under total control, Grifball becomes routine.....
This thread was made for those who miss the olden days of Grfiball and were there back when it first began (Original 8) to talk about how Grifball has changed and how kids now listen to that crazy rock and roll music and drive those fast motorcycles and don't come to see us at the nursing homes.
Woah, I didnt mean I disagree with you. I completely agree with you on everything you said, I just was just trying to say that Jack realizes this and I feel he'll continue his push to bring back "the old grifball". Bum Rushes were a pretty big step. People dont care who won them, but everyone had fun doing them.
I feel he'll continue his push to bring back "the old grifball".
I hope not... cause the old Grifball had turrets on the field... and TWO balls! And it used all of Foundry! And if you don't know what I am talking about then you most likely shouldn't be in this thread... :P
Yeah it's changed, and yeah teams are a lot more "oiled," but the passion is still there like it was before. Unfortunately not in everyone, but there's still teams who have fun playing, and teams who have been around the block.
Grifball is nothing like what it once was, instead of being fun, and friendly, it's now so competitive based, that the original "fun" level of Grifball is null and void. I play Grifball because I'm pretty much addicted to it, I have a false sense of hope that one day Grifball will return to it's former glory.

I agree with this guy, I have a great time with grifball, but there is more and more trash talk and put-downs as grifball progress's, there are no more cheering the other teams on anymore, just all about being the best and going to the championships and winning.
