One of the great things about the update is the fact that you have the option to save your games onto your hard drive. As long as the game is in the tray, the console will spin it once to make certain you have the game in there, then it will pull the information from your hard drive. This will cause the console to not having to spin, to not overheat, to not have the fans working overtime, and to running a quieter, cooler machine that should slow down or even eliminate the Red Ring to Death.
Now, if only I can pick which of the gazillion games I'll pick up this holiday season. My local GameStop people are going to love me WAY too much....
I sent my 360 in to get fixed since it overheated, oddly enough Microsoft wouldn't fix my 360 for free even though I bought an extended warranty. Well turns out since I bought my 360 through Wall-Mart, Wall-Mart responsible for fixing it. My point is, is Wall-Mart personally going to fix my 360? Or will they just send it off to Microsoft the second they get it in the mail? I dont really care who fixes it, just curious.
Anyone seen indication of a normal text friends list for the New Xbox Experiance? I've only seen the 3D avatar system for looking through friends. Now that would bug the shit outta me.
Hah, well I don't mean to act like someone who feels his masculinity is being challenged by cutesy art designs, I mean I love Viva Pinata. But if i'm going to design an avatar for myself, it wouldn't be a super-deformed cartoon guy dressed in plain clothing, especially when i'm creating that avatar on a gaming console.
Could easily be sorted out by restricting what content people in the 'Family Zone' can see on other people's avatars. But whatever.
Talk of all this new stuff is making me jelous. I can't connect at the moment cuz I resently move into new student accomodation where everthing is wireless, except my 360 . Last night I had a dream that i had it connected through my laptop, and I got to use all the new stuff. You can't imagine how pissed off I was when I woke up and found it had all been a lie!
OK, so I didn't see an update the last time I was on, so I'd assume the dashboard update is up yet, but is there a release date yet, or is everyone still guessing sometime in November?
Or is it more likely to be after the downtime tomorrow?
