I, personally, love this game more then any other. I thought it had a great plot, a realistic world, and very few restrictions. It was so realistic that you could actually screw yourself over if you didn't think everything you did through. I know this personally because on my best character I sold the bottle of vintage brandy that you needed to give to the thieves guild and i couldn't remember where i had sold it. I spent $400 and three hours traveling around trying to find the damn bottle. And when i finally did get there i didn't have the money to buy it back so i had to steal it again.
Anyways, it's things like that that made me love the game so much that i will never sell my xbox. It will be the last game that i ever give up and it was the first i had ever played.
What were the reasons that other people loved it.

Basically the feel of the game. I loved it, I always felt really immersed in what was going on.
Also, it's not a game where you start off unnaturally powerful. If you're a level one the you're gonna die against a deadroth every time, except if you carry a massive amount of potions and scrolls

That's true, i remember when i started off Napalm i got my ass kicked by a normal guy in Seyda Neen. It was the murder who killed the tax collecter

I remember the first fight I couldn't win with my Khajiit. Those freakin kidnappers under mournhold. It took me ten tries to kill them, and that was with a massive amount of scrolls. Of course after I killed them I also killed the guy they were had kidnapped for not giving me good enough stuff

I got that game one Christmas. It was a game I would on-and-off play.

When I got into it, I had some fun. I killed slave traders and owners, robbed stores, and died a lot. It was also a very ADD game. So much shit to do, you end up forgetting what your were doing before.

For example, I was on one quest where eventually I was given an opportunity to level up. I went to sleep outside, only to be woken up by some elf with a knife and no shirt. I killed him, and ended up going to the other lands of the game.

I was very far in that game. Then my shithead brother decided to erase the data. I haven't touched it sense. Too much was lost.

I know what you mean. If I ever lost my main character I don't think I'd ever be able to restart. Just too much already done.

I love morrowind, my friend gave it to me and I didn't stop playing it 4 the whole weekend. Then I got my 360 and suddenly morrowind wan't good enuf 4 it. I got oblivion but I just wasn't able to recapture the magic that morrowind had.

Yeah, the only thing that's better about Oblivion are the graphics and battle system
