The Guild is a web series about a group of online gamers whose lives soon emerge into the realm of reality. It is written for gamers, about gamers, and by a gamer (Felicia Day, who also stars as Codex -- you may know her as "Penny" from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog). Episodes vary from 3-6 minutes in length, and follow the Guild members’ lives online and offline.
Members of the Guild: Codex - the timid girl struggling to keep her life under control. Zaboo - the insecure, immature boy who falls in love with Codex. Vork - the neurotic guild leader who lives very intensely to save money and maximize efficiency in the guild. Clara - the mother of three who has little-to-no interest in her "real" life. Tink - the spunky recluse with much disdain for the other members of the guild. Bladezz - the young tech whiz.

I've already asked SipiderW's permission to post this here. I did a search and did not find any threads for this webseries. If there are, they haven't been active in over a year. Let's get some love in here for The Guild!
Oh yeah, I saw a link for that but I haven't had a chance to see it yet. The only extras I've seen were this interview with FD and the Christmas songs. And maybe a blooper reel from S1.
live has both seasons in full, the trailers for tboth season, bloopers (split up into 3 files, eps 1-4, 5-8, 9-12) and the christmas specials too.
the real question is, in episode 12 of season 2, what was the deal with codex's spirit making a run for it when she saw zaboo making out (rather awkwardly) with tall hot girl?
i am aware of this sad fact... though you're probably better off for it.
as far as Codex goes, i felt bad for her and at the same time she's starting to crack out of her shell. solving everyone else's problems pretty well, pwning bladezz, etc etc. they need to bring along someone for her.
I dunno, the series needs to get away from Zaboo. The first season lagged because it focused on the Zaboo storyline. It didn't feel "finished". It felt like one big long episode. I'm enjoying season two a bit more.
seems like they tried this last season by getting him out of her house and having a new interest for codex. i think we'lll see the trend continue next season with zaboo and tall hot girl. i think stunt man isn't totally done with codex yet - he's interested he's just not commmitted. and i think clara needs to go rogue and start a rival guild.
Stunt Guy can't really start anything with Clara -- she's married. I mean, I guess she could cheat, but I don't really see that happening. This show isn't mean to be a drama, I don't think. It's main genre is comedy, so for there to be a big focus on Clara cheating would be absurd. So I agree with you that I think Codex has a chance with Stunt Guy. I can see him going after her again, maybe apologizing for how he treated her, and Codex being so hung up on Zaboo that she sabotages her chances with SG.
The Season 2 finale resembles the near complete destruction of The Guild. Vork figured out that Clara was fucking with him, Bladezz baleeted Tink's character, and Zaboo's FINALLY made the effort to push away from his Codex obsession. It's clear to me anyway, that next season will be about Codex's attempts to set everything as straight as it can (which will still look pretty warped, naturally) because now that The Guild's gone to shit, Stunt Guy's acting like a total d-bag and Zaboo's off with Tall Hot Girl, she's got nothing else to fall back on.
Oh yeah, I forgot about Tink's character disappearing. The guild is a total mess. You're probably right about Codex trying to fix everything next season -- that seems to be her job. Everyone's always at each other's throats and she's always playing peacemaker.
perhaps there will be a pilgrimage to wherever the games servers are kept in a desperate attempt to restore tinkerballa's character. what would be totally ridiculous is a crossover between the guild universe and the dr. horrible universe.
In Season 1 she makes a reference as to how she was a child prodigy with the violin. But now that she's older, playing doesn't make her feel special anymore.
Oh hey guys, I was watching season two tonight. Brian and I were talking a while ago about why Vork had that timer in the shower. We thought he might time his showers to be effective with the water, but we knew that didn't make sense because he was at Codex's house. Since I watched the whole season in context, I realized the timer was the countdown for the server downtime. When it dinged, that was the end of the downtime and the server was back up.
Right, that's what we thought too. But right before they go to the party, he holds it up and indicates how much time is left until the server goes back up. Then it dings when he's in the shower, so he has this sort of empty sob because he can't even be happy about the server going up now that he knows the guild is falling apart. Then he goes out and tells Tink and Codex how the server is back up.
