We've been collecting player information from the "what state are you from" thread, and after reading over the discussion on the Hub's American Grifball Cup brainstorm thread, We've pulled together teams of 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 players from the same state or neighboring states.
Here is a draft outline of the tournament set up and schedule. We are open to suggestions and ideas. Please let us know if you are not on a team and would like to be (please provide your state of residence/where your xbox lives) or if you would like to be removed from the list.
At this point, the American Grifball Cup is scheduled to start Monday, June 1 and will be using a play-off style bracket. Every round will be a best of three series between paired teams and teams will be responsible for scheduling their own games. The first round of games should be completed by Sunday, June 7. Second round games will be played from the 8th to the 14th, third round between the 15th and the 21st, and the final round will be held between the 22nd and the 28th of June. Brackets will be seeded randomly and based upon the number of teams, some teams may receive first round byes.
Currently, there are 19 teams which have been pulled together based upon interest expressed in the "what state are you from" thread. This number may grow or shrink depending on future interest and availability.
I just switched the link to a google doc, so you might want to give it another go. If you're still having issues, let me know and I can send it to you in another format.
Team MN will roll through this with little resistance; unless Team PA could draw the best 4 from both teams. But even then, i'm not so sure they would get in the way.
The teams were randomly assigned in an attempt at fairness. This is just a preliminary schedule, and based on the amount of players that add/drop, it's still very likely that teams will be shifted around and reorganized.
