I don't like how only a mod or admin can change the thumbnail, I agree that it should be that way for interests with tons of people but when an interest doesn't have one, then it should be chosen by what image has the most mod points or if there is only one image in that interest. ONe posable system would be having the image with the highest mod score as the thumbnail, but mods/admins can blacklist and/or whitelist images (whitelist only if it's something super popular or keeps being abused). Also, I think we should be able to tag images in interests.
The new karma bar is sweet. I do prefer the group and game profile tabs to be one row similar to the old style. It's really depends if a person wants to scroll down one long page or prefer to click to view the person's games they played or groups they are in on a separate secondary page. Overall it's a great fresh look. Keep up the great work
I do indeed consider myself a civilized individual, as there are far nastier ways of saying things, are there not? And as a writer, I think that the use of literary devices such as repetition can come in useful when it comes to non novel writing pursuits.
Would you like to discuss the rest of my word choice over tea?
I don't wanna sound like a little whiny bitch, but I really dislike the new profile. The site used to be simple and easy to understand and navigate. Now it doesn't.
I really like the new format. Especially how the blog posts of the people you are watching automatically show up where you dont have to go straight to their page, or the home page to read them. Seems more efficient which i generally feel about the entire new set up as a whole.
feels a lot like facebook or twitter, other wise i like the layout. it kinda feels smooth and saves me from opening all my updates in different tabs as there all right there. also i like how seamless jumping between tabs is now
Is the "Sync from Facebook" button supposed to actually sync the interest we have from facebook, or just act like it's doing it and not really import interest?
I like the idea of the interests feature (it does seem very facebookesque I'll admit). I've not got a problem with it and I think it's easy to use, especially if you can't think of an interest and suddenly see an interest (say a popular one) that you totally forgot about, now it's added to your interests :)
Like the new interests section, even if you have to fill it out all again for thumbnail visibility.
Wasn't sure if this was for Bug Reports, but there does seem to be an issue if you want to remove an image you've uploaded to Film or TV Show Interest Page. Though it might be because Admins & Mods can only remove uploaded images, when I try to remove an image I've uploaded (pressing the Delete link), the site returns an 'Invalid Parameter' error message at the top of the '...' Music Interest page.
It's different. That isn't to say it's bad. I'm just more comfortable with the current profile layout. I'll get used to it though.
I like that it's very organized and easy to navigate through.
I'm kind of iffy over the "watch" feature though. I like that I'm able to read whatever the people I'm watching have to say from my page. But if there are a lot of alerts that come up at once, I'd rather just go to their profile to read their journal post or view image.
I think the new look is great, one thing i will say is to separate the forum threads that you are watching so they are not in the main area with the profile picture of the person who created it. I would add another tab dedicated to watched threads with the old style of title, look at new posts and stop watching.
You know what? I'm tired of user stupidity. From now on, anyone who posts about anything other than Interests in this thread is going to be banned from it, and that includes telling others to only post about Interests.
Stop being fucking idiots, userbase.
ALSO: It's occurred to me that specifically addressing the "RT -> Facebook?" opinions might be useful. Please vote in this poll in order to add some clarity to matters.
Pictures are too big, often unfilled for pretty damn popular series, and take far longer to load than text. Besides, rarely is it that something I've never heard of catches my eye without me clicking it to find out more about it anyway, image be damned. Oh, and the weird half face thing for the filler is pretty bad. Hell, I'd almost prefer the question mark.
I was thinking the same thing. There are a LOT of music choices out there, especially once the site goes live. Not sure how the mods/admins will be able to keep up with all the thumbnails.
Other than that, though, I'm loving it. Especially like how you can sort each list.
One problem that's still bothering me a lot is how I'm forced to use names that don't have capitals or (newly discovered) have periods at the end. (e.g. "Parks and Recreation." as opposed to "Parks and Recreation"). This obviously isn't a BIG deal but looks unproffesional - users should have the ability to change the title or make a new one that is formatted with proper punctuation.
If the interests are going to become a picture/link app. Something will have to be done with "the goods" portion of peoples profiles. Some form of customization that will replace the personalities expressed in the old interests section. I see the functionality of the new application, but as some people have said it is very simelar to what doesn't work on facebook.
The old wall of information was a far better introduction to who a person was than any other comunity sites "bio paragraph" that I have seen so far. Part of the reason why people met via the roosterteeth community seem to stick out in my memory.
Loving the interests feature, but when I want to post a comment about some of my interests that might need describing it always states "invalid parameters". And just incase you tell me to go see the bugs thread i've already posted it there as well.
