Features & Community
Achievement Hunter not only has a database of almost every game on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Windows Phone 7 that has some sort of achievement-like unlockable, it also has some pretty swell community features!

Tournaments
-The tournaments page displays the newest and game related tournaments
-You can sort through tournaments using the tabs at the top of the page
-Tournaments in blue are active, while tournaments in grey have already ended

Q: What kind of tournaments can I make?
You can make a tournament for any game you wish. You can also make a generic non-game related tournament if that's how you roll. At the top of the tournament page, you will see a "Create New" button. Click that to get started.

Q: Can I search for active tournaments?
Yes, just use the tabs at the top of the page.

Q: Any tournament-making tips?
Yes.

Gamercore Races
The races page displays your races (if you create one), staff created races, and races that have recently started.

Q: How can I start my own Gamerscore race?
Visit the races page and click on the "create your own"" link at the top of the page. Or just click here if you are lazy.

Q: Are there different types of races?
Yes, there are two types of Gamerscore races that you can make. Incremental Score (puts everyone at 0, "first to gain 1K points") or Absolute Score ("first to 10K points").

Q: Do my friends have to be members of Achievement Hunter in order for me to add their Gamertag to my race?
No, it's not necessary. But it is recommended that they do join Achievement Hunter!

Q: Is there a limit on how many people I can enter into my race?
Limits are for n00bs, so no. Add as many people as you want!

Q: I have created my race and added my friends. Now what?
Go hunt some achievements! The website will automatically keep track of scores and update your race every few hours until it has ended.

Gamerscore Leaderboard
The Gamerscore leaderboard is a great way to see how your Gamerscore stacks up against the rest of the community.

Q: Can I customize the leaderboard display?
Yes you can. Clicking on one of the links above the leaderboard will customize its view. By default, the display is on Everyone, which displays everyone registered on the website that has entered their Gamertag attached to their profile. Staff displays Rooster Teeth staff, Me will find your rank on the leaderboard, AH Admins displays the Achievement Hunter administrators, and Friends will show you friends.

Q: I'm not on the leaderboard! What's going on?
In order for you to appear on the leaderboard, you need to attach your Gamertag to your profile.

Q: OK, I attached my Gamertag to my profile, but I'm still not on there! What's going on now?
Relax brah, there are over 13,100 Gamertags that the website needs to read. It may take awhile for the leaderboard to update.

Q: I'm on the leaderboard, but I earned like 69 Gamerscore yesterday, and it hasn't updated on here. What is going on?
See answer to the previous question.

Games I'm Playing
Games I'm Playing shows off what games you are currently playing on your profile. It's also useful for letting other Achievement Hunters who are playing the same game find you.

Q: How do I add a game to my Games I'm Playing list?
On every game page, there is a button that says "I'm Playing!". Click that and the game will be added to your list.

Q: What are those check boxes for beside each achievement/trophy?
Checking off one of those will list the achievement/trophy as completed. It's an easy way to keep track of the ones you have already unlocked, and the ones you still need to work on.

Achievement/Trophy Comments
You have the ability to comment on every achievement or trophy in the database. Just look for the comments link beside each achievement/trophy.

Q: I'm going to be like: "this achi3v3m3nt can suck my l3ft t3sticl3! its so hard!!! thats what sh3 said lolls". It's chill to say that, right?
No, don't be a dumbass. Here are some quick examples:
Do's
"I managed to get X achievement by doing Y"
"X is a good place/way to boost Y achievements"

Don'ts
"This achievement's a bitch!"
"Fuck that"
"I need X many players to help me now!"

Star Ratings
You also have the ability to rate achievements/trophies based on difficulty with a 5 star system. 1 star being the easiest and 5 stars being the hardest.

-Short for Achievement Hunter TV
-Live broadcast and interaction via chatroom from one or more of the Achievement Hunter crew
-Keep an eye on the front page for details and dates

Community Events

Submissions
Achievement Hunter is built on community submissions. If you want to help out, you probably can in some way. There might even be something in it for you.

Games
Our gaming database is built on your submissions. Without them, we'd be just like Hillary Clinton, without a soul. Please submit games you discover we don't have in our database so we can fill up the site.

But please, only submit games that actually have some form of Achievement or Trophy. Games like Guild Wars and Halo CE are awesome, but they don't have Achievements.
Q: I read the instructions and I still think you guys are missing a game. How would I go about submitting one?
At the top of the games page there is a link to submit a game. Just click that and follow the instructions.

Q: My game got approved, and there is a link to an official guide made by me. But I never made this thread! What is this witchcraft?
No witchcraft or black magic here. If your game submission gets approved, the website automatically creates an official guide under your username. You may edit this post at any time to create the official achievement/trophy guide for your submitted game.

Q: Helping out the site is great and all, but do I get something from you guys?
Yes you do! If your submission gets approved, your name will get added to the game's page, and you will get a milestone!

Video Guides
Video guides are very helpful, and we love them. If you think you have what it takes, why not try submitting one?

Q: What kind of video guides can I make?
You may create an achievement/trophy guide, walkthrough, or anything else that you think might be helpful. For any game in our database, it's up to you! Check out some of the other guides that other people have made for a feel for what we are looking for.

Q: What types of video formats do you accept? Are there any file size limits?
Pretty much any video format is OK. Just keep in mind that there is a 250MB file size limit for video submissions.

Q: All of the videos I watch have an Achievement Hunter animation at the end. Do I need to add that myself, or do you guys do it?
You will have to add this to the end of your video before submitting. You can find the resources here.

Q: Have any recommendations on hardware and software that I should use?
For video capture purposes the Pinnacle Dazzle is a great option. If you want to go an extra step and record in HD, there are Hauppauge HD PVRs or the Blackmagic Intensity. For recording voice-over, Blue's Snowflake mic is a good choice, or any professional microphone will work. Video editing software is really up to you, depends on what programs will handle your video files. As for audio, Audacity is free and works well with pretty much any mic.

Q: Anything else?
There is a group dedicated to making community videos. Check it out.

Q: Right then, how do I submit my video?
At the top of the games page, there is a link. Click that and follow the instructions in the uploader.

Q: I made a video that features more than one achievement/trophy, but the uploader only lets me select one from the list. What do?
Just select one of them. If your video is approved it will be labelled and linked correctly.

Q: Do I get a milestone for uploading videos too?
Of course you do. Not only that, but your video will be uploaded to Achievement Hunters' Community YouTube channel, linked on the game's page, and it even might make it to the front page.

Achievements/Trophies

Q: I see that you are missing all/some of the achievements/trophies for a game. How do I submit them?
If the game already has some listed, then a button will be at the top of the list. Click that and fill out the information. If there are no achievements/trophies listed, then there is a link to submit is where the achievements/trophies will be.

Q: I see how the system works now, milestone, right?
Yep!

Tiles
Sometimes an achievement or trophy is missing its tile. You can also submit that.

Q: Where can I submit a tile?
On each achievement/trophy, there is a "Submit Tile" link.

Text Guides
Much like videos guides, but in text form! If you have written text guide of any kind, go ahead and post it in the game's forum. We will usually see it and post it on the front page and link it on the game's page.

Q: I want to create an achievement/trophy guide, but the game already has an official guide sticky from the person who submitted the game. They haven't edited their post, can I still make one?
You should first ask the person and see if they are writing a guide. If they tell you that you can do it, send a message to an admin and we will edit the post and replace it with your guide.

Halo HORSE Maps
Do you have a Halo HORSE map for the crew to try out? Submit it here!

Fails of the Weak! Clips
Have a hilarious and/or embarrassing Halo: Reach fail that you think Jack and Geoff might comment on? Submit it here!

Game Fails
Halo: Reach isn’t the only game that has awesome fails in it. There are lots of others out there! Achievement Hunter has put together a place where you can view these fails. If you want to submit one, you totally can. Who knows, maybe there might even be surprise commentaries every now and then.

Q: What kind of clips should I submit?
Anything funny! Fails, glitches, and general hilarity.

Q: I found a funny video on the Internet. Can I upload it?
No... you can only submit videos you record yourself.

Q: What's the minimum resolution for my clip?
No less than 360p please. We prefer 720p if possible (1280x720). And no... using your cellphone to shoot your TV while your dog is in the corner licking himself isn't quite what we're looking for.

Q: How long should the clip be?
At least 20-25 seconds. This would include preferably 5 seconds before and after the fail for editing or commentary.

Q: Do I need to add the end slate or Gamertag titles?
Nah... we got that.

Q: Anyway to make the clip better?
If you captured it in a game with a theatre mode, then providing several angles and speeds is very helpful. Please DO NOT dub in music. We can't post copyrighted music and these clips aren't usually as funny played without sound.

AHWU Intro or Number
Be a part of Achievement Hunter's weekly update!

Q: Any guidelines of sorts for submissions?
Yes.
1. We prefer videos in the .mov, .wmv, or .mp4 format encoded with h.264 if possible. File size limit, as with community videos is 250MB.
2. If you are submitting a number, be sure to say "Number" in the video... i.e. "Number 64" instead of just saying "64".
3. Number videos should be short (less than 10 seconds) and the more interesting\exotic the location the better.
4. Intros should be no longer than 10 seconds.
5. Please include audio for both intros and numbers!

I submitted some Achievement info for Renegade Ops (which is being wrongfully listed as out in 4 months when it is already out now) but it hasn't shown up and says that none have been submitted. Is this because they are still pending somewhere or is there an issue?

Also, are users allowed to post their achievement guides onto other sites (such as YouTube) as well as AH? Assumedly without the AH intro/outro graphic..

Cheers

Everything submitted needs to be approved by an admin before it's pushed live to the site. I'll approve the achievements and update the release date right now for you.

As for video guides that you submit, they're already on YouTube.

As long as you remove the AH intro and outro you should be OK. Although YouTube might flag it for copyright infringement, but it's up to you.

Hey guys, was playing through GOW3 campaign and found and interesting little easter egg on Act 4. So basically what you do is at the start of the act is go through the same process of respect for the dead, then when your at griffin's tower go to griffin's stash room, there you will see on your right a chicken with a pirate hat, hit X on it so it'll do it's thing. Next There are three ammo crates on certain places one is on top of a car just at the start of chapter two, then there is one on top of a railway just outside of the tower entrance on chapter 2 and the final one is on top of some barrels near the first collectable on chapter 3, basically go up to each of them and they all fall off the map and as soon as you hit the last one off, the chicken in the stash room flies in on a giant ammo crate and drops "CluckShots" it's the BoomShot but fires chickens instead. I hope you guy's try this out and make a video for your youtube channel, but if not then hey just give it a try then, thanks :).

How come Achievement Hunter videos won't play on iOS? Are there any plans to make current or future videos compatible, or will I always have to be at home to watch Fails and AHWU?

Also, l am a sponsor on the RT site, but still get ads here. Bug or feature?

Well I was wondering because every time Achievement Hunter makes a new video; it is for a game that just came out. I rarely see videos from older games, so I asked because I thought it was some sort of AH etiquette or rule that wasn't listed.

Also; when you list making a walkthrough (under video guide question), I doubt that would be a walkthrough for the entire game, right?

Q: Are people allowed to upload This Is... and Easter Egg videos to the Community Hunter Channel?

A: YES! (Use the same intro and end slates as an Achievement Video)

Spread the word!

Now that This Is... videos are allowed, can we do This Is videos for older games too? And if so, should they be called "This Is..." or "A Look Back At:"?

There's PS3 game with trophies, that's a couple years old now and not very well know, that I'd like to do some trophy guide videos for. But I'd like to start with a This Is type of video to introduce the game first, instead of jumping straight in to trophy videos.
