With Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary coming out November 15th, and Halo 4 coming out next year. Do you think 343 Industries will remake Halo 2 and give it the HD treatment? Frank O'Connor of 343 Industries, formerly of Bungie Studios said Halo 2's ending was originally not suppose to end with you killing Tartarus. That 3 more levels had been planned but scrapped due to time constrants. These levels were suppose to take place on the Forerunner ship. I hope 343 Industries gives Halo 2 the HD treatment with these levels added in. It would make the end of Halo 2 and the beginning of Halo 3 fit together better. What do y'all think?

I was about to say no until you reminded me that 3 levels got cut. Maybe they will. I would like to see that. Halo 2 on XBL had some of my best gaming years. I would love to replay all the old maps in HD. Man, I use to know all the superjumps to that game...
If it was Bungie remaking the game, and by remake I mean re-MAKE, not slapping another games graphics on top of the old game, then yes that would be awesome. But since it's 343 Studios then no, I really wouldn't want them to touch any old games. Or make any new games.
There's a reason they Bungie ended the story with Halo 3, it was a great ending to a great series. Then they made prequels but those don't mess with the story so they're fine. Now 343 is going all Jaws 4 on the Halo series cause they just can't let it be.
I think adding those 3 levels would be a great addition to a Halo 2 remake. But it is Microsoft, so you have to think solely in terms of $ Is making a halo 2 remake worth the $ they will make in the end?
I say yes because halo is priceless but m$ might think otherwise
see now i disagree because what a lot of people don't know is that there was a lot of 343 members on the bungie team while making the halo series, i think they will take good care of it.
I can't help but notice that you are basing your opinion off a game you have yet to play. 343 has yet to release any game and already people are bashing what they have not yet touches. Many 343 employees are from Bungie, also with a whole Gaming company devoted to Halo, I hate to be rude, but I am sure they no more and love Halo more than 90% of Halo fans. I believe they are great hands to hold onto the Halo franchise

I'm not sure if I would buy a Halo 2 remake, maybe if they sold it at the same price as Halo: CE, and included extra missions and features in general. Thus I'm on the fence for this one.
To be honest, I think the best thing 343 could do, since they will be focussing on their new trilogy, is to release a Halo 2 map pack for Halo 4/5 with some of the best maps from it and possibly the 3 campaign missions if that is possible.
That would be fun. When Halo: CEA was rumored back in February, a lot of people thought that they would remake 2. I think adding those last 3 missions would put an interesting twist on the game.
They should totally remake it like they are with CE. In regards to the 3 mission I think they should make 2 campaigns, 1 which would feature the revamp of the released game, and 1 that would be closer to what they wanted to make, as long as both campaigns were sold together.
P.S. I do hope that there will be a remake with the additional missing levels that were never created. Do it for the fans! Halo is BETTER than Star Wars (with the new Blu Ray changes of course)
I'd like to see them remake Halo 2. It'd be fun to go back and play it again, but I have enough to play right now with Reach and Skyrim and Gears 3 though so it may have to wait near the bottom of my buy list.
I would like for them to, but in reality, I wouldn't think so. Halo one's graphics were not really that great IMHO. I mean, just look at the graphics on H2 on the same hardware. I think it would be cool if they did, and I would buy it. But even if they don't, it would be sweet if they did like a ODST DLC with those other missions that were cut. Like the upcoming RAAM's Shadow DLC for Gears 3.
It'd be cool, but realistically I dont think so. Halo CE started FPS for consonles, it was a legendary game which caught everyones attention, Halo 2 was great but it wasn't as groundbreaking.
As long as Halo 4 is made to be like Halo 2, it might not be necessary. Also, since they announced 3 games already, I doubt they will ever have time to remake H2, the best game ever made.
