In reply to slackdog, #1895: If I recall corrctly last year or the year before they did a simular tthing mmade a man sit the rest of the year post season and thenn ten the next.
I right now, i think that Ken Daneyko, Larry Robinson, and Scott Stevens all in their old age and out of shape could do a better job than the Devils defensemen right now. Especially on the PK.
It's making me suicidal (I'm sure to the disappointment of most of you I will most likely not be acting upon this emotion).
The Devils defense is so fucking bad it hurts, in the idiotic rush to be a zomgscoringfirst team we have lost everything that made the Devils a good team.
The thing is...unless you have a Martin Brodeur clone being hidden behind a secret door, the Devils will have to become ZOMGSCORINGFIRST team to be able to survive - good thing Lou Lamorello is still alive because he'd sure be rolling around in his grave if he was dead.
My take on Torres - I think 5 as well but if the Coyotes get knocked out this round then Torres should also get a certain number of games next season - 10 games maybe? If they use the "Bertuzzi" or "McSorley" models of punishment then Torres will probably get remainder of playoffs and 15-20 games into next season at least...
If I had my way Torres would get thrown out of the league. The man is a gutless worm and a cheap shot artist. At least goons have The Code and will fight, but guys like Torres, Lapierre, Marchand, and Subban have no honor and shouldn't be in the league.
I think the interesting part of Torres' coming suspension is what the mandate is regarding playoffs vs. regular season if the Coyotes get eliminated. I'm really curious to see how that will work long term.
Funnied the GIFs, the Boston one is good but fave is Kesler into the lake. All the more reason to believe that Shanaban might incorporate the Bertuzzi/McSorley models of punishment...
