*sighs* Why do I even bother trying to voice my opinion when it all whittles down to two or three people continually telling me to GTFO if I have a legitimate concern that they're ignoring?
I'm not, by any means, telling you to GTFO. We know why you're angry. If I recall correctly (and I could be wrong because I can't find it anymore), the poll didn't really have specifics about each new feature. It had an overview about whether you were happy or not. It's hard for the staff to take this and decide what to do with it. They're not going to completely can an idea, and they understand that the majority of users will get used to it. Down the road, there's going to be more changes and we'll come to the same stand-still. Change is hard, but look at the positives of the update. They're not going to trash the whole update, so if there are small features to change - make those recommendations.
Many users of this site have already explained they miss having an X for their watchlist and Ben is in the process of re-establishing that right now. You'll be ignored if you disagree with the whole thing, but you won't if you voice yourself in a credible manner: new ideas, or specific changes.
I can't trust anything that Ben does. The last time I tried to voice myself in a credible manner, me and everyone else who participated in the poll was... well, you know the story.
Why should I even bother when I know all I'm going to get in reply is something along the lines of "You don't know what you want, only I know what you want and if you don't agree you should just leave."?
I dont mind people voicing their opinions. I personally like the new update. I dont get most of the complaints, but they dont like it for their own reasons. Its the people who are rude as shit that I dont understand. Where do people come off being that way? You dont like the new layout fine express your feelings, but dont be a dick about it
It is everyones right to complain and get aggravated, but I have seen some horrible things said. Voicing your opinion is one thing, but dont be an asshole.
Different people voice their opinions in different ways. Mine is expressed in a way that would be considered 'uncouth' if I've been ignored beforehand.
In my opinion yes. To each his own, but I know I dont want people to treat me like shit and I can bet most people saying what they are saying wouldnt like the same said to them.

Personally I would like to know what exactly people don't like about the site, other than it is different. I mean people didn't honestly expect for the site to stay the same forever did they? It is like getting a drastically different haircut, you don't like it at first because it is weird and uncomfortable for a few days but then you grow to either like it or get use to it. There will always be things "wrong" and things "right" about the site. I would like to see you haters build a updated site that EVERYONE liked. It's not possible. I hope RT ignores the complaints because nothing calls for the amount of abuse Ben got, when in comparison he actually did a good job whether you like the site or not. I am embarrassed of the community at the moment. If you are threatening to leave, then freaking leave. The rest of us will be better off without your hatred. And besides if the website layout makes you mad enough to leave something that you've most likely been a fan of for a while, well...really, the website is going to do you in? For all of you that supported Ben, thank you. For those of you that were civil and un-obscene while commenting you didn't like the site, thank you.
I guess people took a poll on features and they completely ignored the poll. Not that I dont believe you guys, but can anyone post a link to the poll? I want to see what the options were that were voted on.
was it a poll to where you could see the results, or a survey where only RT could. Either way, those people just wanted to stay with the old and not move forward! I dont understand! Did they expect it to be the same FOREVER! Oh my gosh, I just went back and looked at the comments to Ben. Really? Just get over it. I don't even want to hear a "reasonable argument" you all lost that privilege when you acted so child like and rudely. THAT IS WHY RT IGNORED YOU ALL!
We just didn't want -this- change. We were all for an update, but one that better fit the interests of the majority instead of making a bastard child with Facebook and ignoring us.

And I just have a feeling that no matter the change people are still going to hate it, and I dont think anyone on this thread cares whether you like or dislike it-its how you expressed your feelings that has upset us....but thats already been said many times. Overall RT can do whatever the hell they want, if they wanted to sell your email address or charge everyone, they could, whether people like it or not. Sure I get "we are their community etc..." and we all get people are mad but 90% of the negative comments were unnecessary they way they were said. I think in a few weeks people will get over it and get use to it. Then in 5 years when its updated again, the sad thing is, we will have the same issues we have now. Because people suck and will say anything when you are not face to face with the person you are saying it to. So anyone who told Ben to fuck himself. I would like you to tell me if you would go up to Austin and say that to his face. Probably not. And if you did I am pretty sure everyone up at RT gang up on you and support Ben, not you.

Yes, no matter the change, there will always be people who are opposed. But a LOT of the shitstorms could have been avoided if we were provided more than one layout to choose from instead of "I'm making this, like it or leave." Leaving us the option to use the old layout, or maybe whatever Barbara and Burnie are working on to work around all the very unsatisfied people is preferable to one person telling everyone that it's his way or the highway.
well, I don't think Ben was completely alone in deciding how to make the site, I think everyone at RT had to put there say in. Its not like Ben just up and did it. I haven't heard of anything Barb or Burnie was working on. But how many sites allow you to "not upgrade" or choose a different format. I dont know, it seems like we are just talking in circles ha ha. Either way whats done is done what was said is said. I just find it weird because I expect people to freak out like this if say RvB was canceled without word ha ha. Not because the site layout doesn't fit your tastes. And I highly doubt he ignored EVERYONE that complained. I would bet money that this version is different than the original one he created. I am sure he took peoples suggestions into account. It was jus apparently not your suggestions. But like I said and you said, cant please everyone!
