What amuses me is that all the angry people seem to assume Ben was solely responsible. Surely they should be angry at the descision maker, the boss that told Ben to go with this setup.
I don't know what people are bitching about. Yeah the new layout has its downsides, but I think we can get used to it. It's not the end of the world. I for one, don't mind the new layout.
And I would've been perfectly happy with the Preview being the new profile.
But Ben (and whoever else, not saying the blame is solely his) pulled a Windows 3 on us, and what we have here is so drastically different from the preview version.

Yes, there are factors, but given the large outcry of WHAT THE FUCK it's rather obvious that the majority was given an unceremonious fuck you and told to deal.

A lot of people. Most of them are site vets who have been here awhile.
There was a poll taken by a Site Admin that had a thread to support the poll for feedback and discussion. It was quite clear how the majority of the community felt. However, within a couple of days, RT asked the Site Admin to take the poll down.
Here's a screen cap I took shortly before it was closed.
As you can see, more veteran (3+ years) users participated in the poll than lesser veterans and rookies combined. More seasoned veterans simply didn't like the poll than the total number of veterans that participated in the poll. Regardless, it was quite clear that the majority of the regular and seasoned veterans were less than happy with the new layout (the one we tested but did not get).
Because our voice was not heard. When one of the Site Mods tried to find out the public opinion, Ben pulled rank and told him to drop it.
Ben. Ignored. The Community.
There is a LARGE outlash right now and there are plenty of people who are pissed. Less so that are perfectly fine with the new layout.

Were we given the option to use the old layout? No. Was this one the same as the preview? No. Telling the community to shut up and because of his x amount of years as a developer he knows better than we do (just ask Miles for confirmation on THAT bit of behavior from Ben) is what I'm speaking about.
I can't wholly agree with you when the COMMUNITY are attacking the ones trying to improve the COMMUNITY website. Or would you prefer we stated that the phbbb forum stage?

At this point, yes please. I was 'meh' about the new layout that we were led to believe we were getting. This clunker of a layout should be shitcanned.
