The prison sex thing is false. It was because prisoners are not allowed belts and prison clothes rarely fit well. The sex part was added later as a way to stop homophobes using it as a fashion statement. Didn't work.
As for dress codes trying to enforce modesty, never going to work. People's perceptions of modest are never the same and neither are the bodies they are trying to cover. Some people are going to find certain bodies immodest and attention grabbing just for existing. Pretending that abiding by a dress code or some arbitrary mark of modesty will avoid that attention is bullshit, but does have the advantage of giving guys something to blame other than themselves for getting distracted. After all, if she had just dressed modestly it would never of happened.
Anyone see TDS last night with the part on "The Battle of the War on Women"? Since my mom has been out of town, I haven't had to watch or listen to Fox News lately so I wasn't aware of the whole thing they were doing. They piss me off so much.
I have to say, when I first became aware of how horrible Fox News was about pushing a partisan agenda and dividing the nation to increase their ratings, I absolutely despised their organization. This new thing with the war on women however, has convinced me that they are all going to hell. (assuming hell exists)

The attempt to remove coverage of contraception from insurance for women, calls for trans-vaginal ultrasounds if they want abortions, giving doctors the legal capability to lie to an expecting mother in order to prevent an abortion, having an entirely male panel to represent women's health rights in congress, Wisconsin congress trying to make single motherhood considered child abuse, Wisconsin (again) repealing the equal pay law on the basis that "men are generally more concerned with money." You know, that stuff.
... really? Fucking really? This has progressed past sexism. This is now clearly a bunch of stupid assholes who only want to be assholes. How long before they decide to take away the rights of anyone who isn't them? I may live in Australia, but this scares me. How can these people exist?

Virginia is one of the states that tried to push transvaginal ultrasounds. I don't think the Republican governor expected the backlash he got. He took out the transvaginal requirement at least, but the ultrasound is still required before an abortion. It's not medically necessary and the woman doesn't even have to view it, just another thing they try to do to make it more difficult for women to get access. Fucking bullshit is what all this is.
Let's not forget about Arizona, which wants to make women tell them employers why they're using birth control and lets their employers fire them if they're using it for the sex. And which redefined pregnancy to two weeks before you're even pregnant and outlawed abortion after like 18 weeks.
Jan Brewer needs to be shot out of a cannon into the sun. I can't remember any governor (not that our Kasich here isn't trying) who's done more to set this country progressively backwards than her.
