Unfortunately my prediction is that Mega Man won't be making an appearance in the next Smash Bros game (Super Smash Bros Universe?) what with Capcom apparently completely abandoning that franchise as well as firing the Original creator of Mega Man :( . Though Cloud and Chrono would certainly be a possibility to look forward to, especially Chrono as it may spur on a sequel and Chrono Trigger Comeback the same Kid Icarus did when he first reappeared
Mega Man still seems possible to me despite all that, given that he has been included in multiple recent fighting games (Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 as a costume for Zero, and Street Fighter X Tekken in his classic box art form). I think this would be a great place for the classic Blue Bomber to make an appearance, and to try to show fans that they haven't forgotten about the franchise completely.
On another note, one or two Namco characters being included seems like a sure thing due to the company's involvement, right? Pac-Man (with arms and legs) is probably a pretty safe bet, and I'd guess Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia, since it was a GameCube exclusive.

Only slightly. Could make it like Pokemon. The blocks from Mario Bros appear and release random characters when you hit them.
I kind of liked Sonic in Brawl, so it'd be cool if they put in Shadow or Knuckles, perhaps? A Pokemon trainer with newer generation Pokemon (maybe Dawn with the Gen. IV starters?). I too think Megaman would be cool. Lastly, I'd like another Fire Emblem character (Eliwood?).
This thread isn't only about characters you would like to see in the game. I also want to hear your ideas for assist trophy's, stages, weapons, and so on.
For an assist trophy related to Adventure Time i'd like to see something like Flame Princess flying around scorching the place, as for a new stage I'd like to see The Kokiri Forrest, and a cool weapon could be something like The guns from DK64.
That seems like it could actually work against some peoples' strategies though. If you mean falling off the edge of the map, then that to me seems a tad overpowered... But I get where you're coming from.
I just wish every character had a little more of a different feel to them. I mean granted, playing Samus is NOTHING like playing say for example Solid Snake in Brawl, but I just feel that all the shooters in the game feel the same, as do all the melee fighters, and etc.
Mother is my favorite Nintendo series, so as long as they keep Ness or Lucas, I don't care who the other characters are. Although, it would also be great to see a set of 3 Fire Emblem characters, but I don't think Fire Emblem is considered a big enough series for that.
I think Phoenix Wright should be in the game. They could totally make it work, he was in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. And I'm sure Waluigi and Daisy are gonna be put in the game at some point.
I would also like to see some changes in final smashes (assuming they keep them, which they may not, I don't know). I mean, come on. What the hell was Luigi's final smash? He should have pulled out his poltergust 3000, or put em' through the ghost portrificator-whatsit. King Dedede should get his super hammer and put on the mask from KSSU.
Oh, and Ganondorf should get a new move set instead of being a mirror of Captain Falcon. He should have a sword.
