I have to go with Sean Connery on this one. I really love a fucking terrible pun. Plus my housemates and I used to use a mop with a picture of Sean's majestic face as a scarecrow. We called him "ScareSean".

Covalent.

I mean... Uh, Brosnan. He was my first and I grew up with him. To me, he is James Bond.

I'll go with Sean Connery. Just love those early movies.

Daniel Craig is awesome though. Feel like he is underrated as an actor. I've just always bought completely into the newest movies. Love them.

Lazenby. no just kidding, Bond does not wear a kilt.

There isn't a bond I really dislike, But i have to go with Connery. He defined the movie role in my mind. I do like Daniel Craig as the current Bond, He strikes me more to Ian Fleming's Bond than any other.

First got into Bond during the Pierce Brosnan period, but From Russia With Love is my favorite of the films, so Connery tops my list. I always found Moore to be a little...bland, and it may be weird but I really haven't seen any other Bonds.

SeanCon makes those one-liners work with his accent. Video game Pierce Brosnan is pretty good as well, but not the real one.

I think each one has a defining role that best exemplifies Bond.

Connery: Goldfinger (who doesn't like Pussy Galore)
Lazenby: Well, OHMSS does follow how Bond becomes a widower.
Roger Moore: A View to a Kill (Grace Jones and Mr. Cowbell himself)
Timothy Dalton: License to Kill shows a pissed off bond that is similar to Daniel Craig's
Pierce Brosnan: Goldeneye is a classic bond movie for its fun gadgets and bond villainess that kills with sex (Anna Topoff)
Daniel Craig: Casino Royale rebooted bond and did it well with gritty action and a quirky humor that others missed.

If I had to pick just one favorite, it'd probably be Brosnan's GoldenEye with Connery in a close second. He may not have had the moves, but Connery's attitude just exuded bond. He kicked ass 20 years before it was cool to kick ass.

Pierce Brosnan was good, but I have to say my favorite would have to be Sean Connery. He had the looks, the charm, the accent; he had it all. And even with the silly puns, I felt like only he could get away with saying them and making them sound cool. Daniel Craig did reboot the Bond franchise to make it more modern (which I thank him for that) and I don't think I seen any of the other Bonds.

Daniel Craig would be my favorite. I like the whole...I'm going to kill you with whatever I can you because you pissed me off, and I don't give a shit attitude.

Grew up on the Roger Moore movies so even though I feel like he's my favorite Bond, I think I enjoy the Dalton films the most. I can't completely explain it, but the closest I can come to it is with Moore it always felt like he was just killing bad guys to get back to getting laid. Like the mission plot or mission didn't matter, it was all just "I need to put a bullet into these 3 henchmen so I can sneak into that mini-sub and shag that girl I saw"

Brosnan never clicked with me. Connery you have to respect but the entire tone of the movies back there were completely different.

I remember seeing Goldeneye in theatres. It was the first Bond I watched on the big screen. This was after the franchise had gone through its single longest stretch without a new movie. To suddenly have one, with a new guy behind the Walther PPK to boot, felt like a lifetime in the making. That and the awesome N64 game solidified it as my favourite Bond movie. Next favourite would be Thunderball.

I like Brosnan a lot, but I think Connery was the most badass. Craig is getting there. Needs a few more movies.

I think Roger Moore was the best Bond. However, my favorite Bond movie goes to Sean Connery in You Only Live Twice.

IN ORDER:
Best: Connery.
- Moore
- Dalton

- Brosnon
-Lazenby.

Done.
I know this as fact BTW, is because I have read the books, and imagine Sean Connery when reading them.

Timothy Dalton or Daniel Craig. IMHO Pierce Brosnan was the WORST James Bond :P

I hate that about him. He takes the gentleman out of Bond, which was always part of the fun of the character to me. And let's be honest- Sean Connery IS James Bond. This isn't who is the best Bond- it's who's your favorite. I always liked Brosnan. He interjected some humor that was absent in Bond films, and he maintained that line between between English gentleman and badass.

I'm with Count. Goldeneye was also my introduction to the franchise, so I do feel a bias to Brosnan. My top three in order are;

3. Gold Finger
2. Casino Royale (2006 version)
1. Goldeneye

I think Casino Royale is ultimately the better movie, but the tie in with the N64 game and my nostalgia for Goldeneye make it my favorite movie and Bond actor. Connery is very suave, but the character has evolved (for better for for worse) beyond his original portrayal. Craig is very good, but he doesn't have the breath of work in the franchise yet to take the number one spot.

For the record, I hate the Moore era.

I've only seen from the Pierce Brosnan era onwards, not counting Connery in Goldfinger, but for me Brosnan epitomises James Bond. Connery and Craig are good in their own right but they just don't lend the same charm to the character.

Dalton was really good. My favorite Bond film though, was The Man with the Golden Gun.

Casino Royale with Daniel Craig is my favorite by far. From Russia with Love with Sean Connery and Golden Eye with Pierce Brosnan are also very good.

I know. He just felt lifeless and lackluster. Especially considering who he followed on from the role of bond; no match for the greats!
