I wouldn't if you don't enjoy it the 3D is not grand, though i must ask what you dont get, its a film about a big ship that crashes into a bigger iceberg
I know. I told you it would be an unpopular opinion. I think it mostly has to do with the love story. I don't hate romance but it does have to be different for me to really get into it. Like I love the relationship between Tex and Church because it is so unique. Boy meets girl is sweet but girl dies and boy can't get over her and creates deadly AIs is even sweeter.
But I did like the last part of the movie and have to give the director props for portraying a tragic incident in history without making it too over the top.
I think it should be said in response to the claim that the film was only re-released to make more money that it came out to mark and remember the 100th anniversary of what was and remains a great human tragedy. On some level they may have just been doing what they thought they could do to show respect, because, lets face it, how many people would have knew or noticed the fact that it was the anniversary?
I wouldn't go so far as to say it wasn't motivated by the potential profit, but I think that may be an overly cynical view to take without thinking about other reasons.
I'm Northern Irish, and went to see it in Belfast where the ship was built. The anniversary has been a very big thing there, with a week long (maybe longer) festival, with a few big names playing in the Titanic Sounds concert, and the building of a new, and fairly expensive, Titanic centre on the Lagan river.
I was on vacation in TN and went to the Titanic Museum on the 100th anniversary. There weren't many people there, I don't think a lot of people (besides the workers at the museum) really make a big deal or even knew about the anniversary.
It was really cool though, my family and I got to see the original photo album of Father Browns Titanic pictures. The album just got there that day after never being seen publicly before.
It was great. We were told the museum would take about three hours, but my family was in there for over six. We actually were there after they closed, but the people who worked there allowed us to stay and keep looking. They also spent a lot of time talking with us. It was great.
