To get blood back you can eat food or get a blood transfusion. Canned beans and food of that sort will give you a small amount of blood. Cooked meat from animals you kill and cook will give you much more blood. For a blood transfusion you need to have a blood bag, which are found in hospitals, and you need to have someone do the transfusion on you.
Not a problem. To use the bandages you have to have them in your active inventory (not your backpack) and scroll with your mouse wheel to bring up the little menu. You should see "Use Bandage" or something of the sort in the pop-up menu
Just a quick update to the inventory system. In a recent patch Rocket changed it so you can't use the scroll mouse anymore. You have to press 'g' to get into your gear and right click the picture of the bandage on the right. Its very important its the picture on the right. Then you just click bandage.
Is anyone else almost sad at what this mod has become? When I first saw the mod in a youtube video I was so excited. I bought it and I'm sure that's how most people came to it. Now though that it has become such a big thing you can't join a server that doesn't have most of the players killing on sight. I totally recognize that in a real zombie apocalypse, there would be those people who kill other people to get their stuff, but what about those people who would want to join forces? I assume that some people would recognize the semi-safety in numbers that a group would provide and not just kill everyone. Without going on a much much longer rant I'm just going to finish with one last thing. To me, it seems like DayZ, a great mod, has been overrun with people like the stereotypical CoD player who turn the game into a deathmatch.
Yes I agree. So many people come into DayZ thinking its something like Left for Dead without realizing that Arma is a military simulator. Whats really annoying is when they spam the chat with how do I pick something up or how do I heal. Don't people check the controls before playing?
I've been playing for dayz almost 100 hours and those who bought the game just for the mod are the scourge of the community. I played arma for almost 300 hours and I absolutely despise those who don't even have the decency to play the tutorials before getting into the actual game. clogging the chat with "how do i turn the gamma up?", "how do i see through my crosshairs?", and the classic "how do i use my bag?". The community of users who are buying the game only on the premise that it is popular and not the fact that they are interested in a persistent world zombie sandbox, have an astounding lack of common sense (some would say a gavin level of common sense). I'm not trying to be dark and edgy here but i am very put off the mod by those who choose to delude the experience with ignorance unmatched.
I personally laugh at the people who as stupid questions who ask stuff like "how do I stop looking at myself in third person". But it is tiring when the server is full of those people. And while DayZ was a large part of my choice to buy ARMA 2 I did already have OA. I want to know what they will do once ARMA 3 comes out or they get bored of the mod they will just be stuck with a game that they don't want to play. I guess it's a good example of impulse buying though.
You should understand that people go through learning curves, besides your all focusing on the wrong things, yes the game has brought a lot of people, but that's always how it is with a game that gets popular, anyone who plays minecraft understands the annoyance of new people coming in and mucking everything up asking stupid questions- look at the rooster teeth lets plays it was almost painful to watch, but that's how they all started. Yes Arma 2 is a military shooter, but I can tell you I never played any shooter online but I love the Socom navy seals games for ps2 and ps3, and while i entered Arma 2 for just dayZ i found a game that is pretty amazing all around-my computer almost explodes playing it but when it works its great. This mod will bring thousands of people looking for a realistic military shooter an experience outside of the norm in today's gaming society.
If DayZ is really a fad then calm down, these idiots as you call them will move on soon enough, besides they plan to eventually have it as a separate client all together so they'll be separated like that from the true Arma 2 community
Besides your both overlooking what this means on a larger scale. Interest in Arma and Arma 3, because of dayZ they've gained a lot of cash in a very short period and they have Arma 3 coming out in the foreseeable future. So yeah get pissed and whine let me just remind you that your hardcore realistic military shooter experience still is there and was there before dayZ. We love this mod as much as you do in fact more because we shelled out the cash for it without question 30+ for an alpha is unheard of, but we didn't bat an eyelash. Its us who are pushing its development so fast, us who fight along side you just to get into a server and we've effected the channels of hundreds on youtube becoming sensations overnight by subscribing to those people who record hours and hours of footage by the thousands
So hate me because I'm funding this game, hate me because Im pushing the development, Hate me because Arma 2 has been brought into the light and you know what hate me for being a new member of rooster teeth you pricks.
You 2 are so dumb, say thank you to all us newbies, and if your still butt hurt get a couple of your buddies and pay for your own server 50 bucks last i checked and play with your "legit" friends
