Newbie Question about DLC Maps

I've been playing Halo for a long time but I just recently bought my first DLC map, the Anniversary Map Pack for Reach. I'm thinking about getting the Noble and Defiant Maps but I was wondering if they are forward/backwards compatible at all? If I buy DLC maps on Reach, will I be able to play them on Halo 4 when it comes out? Also would I be able to play any of them on Halo 3? Might be a dumb question but I couldn't find the answer on Google. Thanks in Advance. (Also can maps I've created in Halo Reach Forge open in Halo 3?) Thanks everyone!

No. They're completely different games.

That would definitely be a feat of engineering, but as Mike said, they are completely different games.

While you can use Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary to play the Anniversary Maps with Halo Reach players, there is no other Halo game that does that.

Honestly, you should save your money for DLC for Halo 4 because I can almost guarantee that when Halo 4 comes out the number of people playing Halo Reach will drop to about the same number of people playing Halo 3 at the time of this post.

You can also use that money to buy Minecraft, which is pretty awesome as an X-Box Arcade game. :D

You're gonna have to get up and put Halo Reach to play Noble/Defiant. It's a lot of work to get up the couch but I wouldn't recommend it.

Nope. The games are completely different. I'm sure that Halo 4 will have DLC, and Halo 3 has Mythic. Noble/Defiant are exclusive only to Halo Reach.

In reply to Tarmannator, #5:

I'm pretty sure every game in the future will have DLC. They just want us to buy DLC to complete an incomplete game.

Yeah, I'm almost positive that Halo 4 will have DLC. But I don't really like to assume things and get other peoples hopes up. So I don't say anything until it is confirmed.

Halo 4 is having 3 sets of dlc (9maps). The limited edition gives you all the maps kind of like the season pass that came with Gears of War 3
