Pen: *Loads a clip of custom electronic darts into her Sniper Rifle* *Radio* "This is Agent Pennsylvania, let me know when those holograms are within 100 meters of our position."
*mumbles* "It'd be easier to do that from my crow's nest."
*Radio* "Be advised Pennsylvania, the last position of holograms I saw were heading directly for your fire team. At that speed, they should be within 100 meters of you any minute now."
*Radio* "Will they be moving anytime soon, Hawaii? I don't think we have the need to kill any innocents, but if we gotta we gotta." *turns the safety off on my magnum*
*coms* "there are only two. No problem for a couple of bad asses such as your selves." *giggles* "Oh look, how cliche, a porn mag in a locker. Oh she is nice." *tosses the mag and continues to rummage.*
*grins slightly before grabbing my knife and getting infront of the entrance* "Cal, we're breaching." *swiftly kicks open the door with a heavy kick and flings my knife at one startled guard, then runs over and slams my foot into the skull of another; his limp body falling to the floor*
*picks up my knife from the first guy's body and wipes it off before stepping over the bodies*
*coms* "doesn't look like it, please hold for further orders from team leader." *turns back to the screens* *coms* "if you find any thing to eat let me know."
*Radio to Hawaii* "If I find anything to eat, it'll be gone by the time I tell you. Just a warning."
*checks my tac-pad and pushes a body to the side with my boot*
*Radio to Alaska* "I'm no genius like Pen, but if you can just EMP the pelican until we return... or maybe just shut down it's systems." *shrugs to myself*
*Radio* "just a suggestion, you could have an Ai remove the ignition protocol from the system, then encrypt it and secure it so that if there is a hack you'll be notified?"
*kicks feet back up on the desk.* *radio* "the monitors are clear. The only points of interest right now might be.... ah never mind, nothing new here."
*Radio* "Uh... I don't have the equipment to do that. I'll see what I can do though"
*Slides back down the tree and goes back into the pelican. While looking around the cockpit my eyes fall on a metal box box to the left of the co-pilot's chair. When I open the box, a small array of glowing switches illuminate the cockpit. I take a mental not of all the switches I move, and when I finish, I press the ignition button, only to hear nothing.*
*Radio* "I think I took care of it- Fuck."
*Stops immediately as a squad of four soldiers surround me. My eyes look to the tree my nest is in, noticing a dangling sniper*
*radio* "Sorry big guy, I got no eyes outside, for some reason the people who built this station ment to monitor the people inside from here. Why would they want to keep an eye on their own guys though? But if you still want something to do, there is a vehicle weigh shack about ten meters from where you are at the fence, there are two guys in there and what looks like a contraband cache. Have fun." *smiles*
*darkly* "You guys are making a big fucking mistake..."
Soldier 1: I think you got it wrong, you're the one who made the mistake pal!
Soldier 2: Yeah!
Soldier 1: Will you quit saying yeah every time I talk?
Soldier 2: Yea- Uh, sorry...
Soldier 3: On your knees, now!
*Looks darkly at the third soldier, twitching slightly. My knees fall to the ground and I put my hands on my head. As I do this, one soldier puts the barrel of a pistol to my head.*
Soldier 1: We won't risk you getting the upper hand. Sorry about your luck.
*Jerks my head to the side as the shot goes off, barely dodging the bullet. I turn around and grab the pistol, press the mag release and pull the slide back, ejecting the only round in the gun. The soldier holding the gun freezes in shock, and another soldier dropped his gun.*
"Sorry about your luck"
*Snaps the first soldier's wrist, twists him around and crushes his windpipe with a clench of my fist. As he falls to the ground, gasping for air, the soldier who dropped his gun now dives for it in hopes to shoot me. I stomp my boot on the gun, bending the barrel before he can grab it, pick him up by the neck, and draw my energy blade. He struggles to move my hand away, but my push is to powerful, and the blade pierces his skull. Blood begins to ripple down his body, and the two remaining soldiers run away in fear. I drop his lifeless body and look to the still-suffocating soldier, chuckle darkly and leave him to die*
*Radio* "We've got two stragglers. Kill them or let them go; it's your choice"
*Radio* "On it." *walks out of the entrance and watches as the straggles run away in terror several yards away*
"Hey, guys!" *I yell as they stop and turn their heads towards me*
*aims the barrel of my magnum at them without stepping closer* "Night." *fires off one bullet into each other skulls, then casually reloads and walks back up next to California*
*reaches the outside of the breached door and pauses*
"This lust for blood...it's really starting to shake my trust in them."
Beta: "Most elite soldiers must be conditioned to kill. They have to desensitize themselves to the greatest taboo in human morals, and distract themselves from reflection. Many try to keep a light mood even in bloody situations so that they can continue to function effectively."
"But they seem to be enjoying it."
Beta: "Studies show that career soldiers can become 'addicted' to the surge of adrenaline that comes with combat."
"There's a difference between combat and slaughtering, Beta. In any case, I think we should be especially wary Alaska. He's changed since he lost Chi."
Beta: "I told you that we could never fully trust any of them."
"I know. I know... who are these guards, anyway? Inssurrectionists? They aren't exactly operating by standard innie procedures."
Beta: "Unclear. They apparently did not appear until after we left line of sight. Recommend we investigate furth-"
"No. We follow our orders."
*Beta's avatar appears and tilts his head to one side."
Beta: "This is different than the Mother of Invention?"
"Beta, that was an isolated situation. Just because that one risk panned out doesn't mean they all will."
Beta: "I believe the lack of knowledge is a greater risk than trying to obtain i-"
"I know Beta! Just...let me think, alright?"
Beta: "By your command."
*Beta's avatar winks off and I slumped down against the wall, facing the snow.*
