This forum topic is for the discussion of everything dealing with the Skyrim Dawnguard DLC, post your thoughts, comments, questions or even concerns in this forum and lets get the ball rollin' cause the DLC is finally out!
I'll be posting my let's play's as well as any other gameplay videos I make for the DLC on this forum as well, if your interested in seeing any gameplay for the DLC or just Skyrim in general than check out Hexagonal Retreat on youtube as I'll be spurting out content as fast as I can in the best quality that I can.
The new stuff looks good so far. I may have found an easter egg on the vampire quest line... if not it was funny anyways. when your looking for the blood scroll and enter the spirit area, some ways to the right there is a building with a dragon skeleton nearby. In the mouth of the dragon there was a sword stuck into the roof of the mouth, and in the rib cage there was a human skeleton with iron glove. kind of a shout out to dragonheart.
vampire lord and werewolf get there own talent tree, but its not tied to levels at all. you have to get kills with the vampire's drain life spell and eat fresh corpse as the werewolf. they also added dragon bone weapons for crafting.
I love everything about Dawnguard (I already finished it), with one exception.
The vampire attacks on towns, they've already killed someone without me noticing (I was at the other side of the city when it happened) and I had no saves to revert to, and I have a sinking feeling that it will happen again and again.
Same thing happened to me in Solitude when I was near the castle. Didn't hear anything, but 4 people perma-died. Despite that, I've thoroughly enjoyed going through this DLC. It's not comparable to Shivering Isles, but it was still fun and gave me a competent companion, Serana, to run around with.
I've spent hours running around in Werewolf form eating anything possible. Going up the right skill branch so that I'm able to consume creatures that count towards new perks was probably the best choice I've made for that character.
At the level my character is, though, magic users absolutely wallop me when I'm shifted.
I just found a place called the Redwater Den that was added in the Dawnguard DLC, if you haven't seen it yet go check it out! Here's a video of me checking it out, I believe if you play through the vampire quest line you have to go here for a questline.
