Has Slender been a popular game for a while now, or is it fairly new? I just heard about it today, downloaded the beta, and proceeded to shit my pants because it's fucking horrifying. If you haven't heard of it, THIS is a location you can download it from. I'm not kidding about it being terrifying either...you've been forewarned.
I've gotten up to 6 out of 8 papers, and it has just gone downhill from there. My last game was 2 out of 10. It's just so hard to figure out any kind of direction. Not to mention, Slender Man is an asshole.
I just threw my laptop in terror after he got me after 3 pages. It's amazing that this game isn't in 1.0 but it's way scarier than the majority of horror games out there. I have to admit though, after the first time you blindly play it, it looses a bit of it's scare factor because you know what happens when you die.
Yeah. I wish they hadn't done the close up of his face as a kill cam because it kind of shows the monetary limitations as well as character limitation of the game. Slender Man isn't scary up close. He's scary from far away, especially when the graphics are not so amazing.
Exactly, I think Jim Sterling said it best when he mentioned that the worse a horror game looks, the scarier it is. In super high res games where you can clearly see what's after you isn't scary, if you don't know what's after you because you can't quite make out what it is, it preys more on your psyhe. Hopefully whoever made it will add in some new things into the next versions to keep it fresh and more scary.
I'm sure they will. I'm surprised how good it looks already though. For being version 1.0 of an Indie game, it's impressive. It looks better than some retail releases.
My highest is 7, the game gets a lot less scary when you play it for so long xD When i first started playing i was recording the game and also doing facecam. To make it more scary my friends all stopped talking on skype.
About half an hour later while i am still playing, my friend unmutes his microphone and screams as loud as he could, luckily enough i was recording facecam and caught my reaction. This game is insanely scary, at least for me. I plan on doing more of these videos with facecams if that is what the people want. Would you guys mind giving me some feedback on what you think of my video I did today.

I've only made it to 5/8 pages, and then it jumped me. I think that if it gets close enough to you without you noticing it, like if it just spawns in behind you, it can take control of your camera.
It's scary as hell, and I highly recommend it to everybody.
