tevez hat trick actually. tevez will want more money this summer or a transfer. city are a complete mess up there, united will win the title - experience, organization, etc.

just watched the highlights, liverpool definitely deserved winners. but goals came out of nothing on both sides, really basic mistakes led to goals

Agreed. All 3 goals came from fuck ups at both ends. Everton had us by the balls at half time though, and they completely failed to press their advantage.

Everton really need a cash injection soon. Can't see how they're gonna continue to challenge for anything what with all the debt they have and little money to manage. Although that said, I still don't understand how they could afford to buy Jelavic from Rangers. Every year, we always hear that Everton have no money yet they always manage to sign players on last minute deals. How do they do it?

Two when I had posted ;)

I just get sick over this past season. He pissed off his Manager, spent the season playing Golf, gets paid, and then comes back because the money City spent on the field is not performing with heart or class. He returns and soon after nets a Hat Trick.

And celebrates with a golf swing. Tevez may be many things, but you can't say he lacks a sense of humour.

Haha. Even so though, I don't understand where Everton's £6m came from, considering they've only been able to afford loan signings for a while now.

Probably has something to do with Fox owning the rights to the EPL..

Fox had paid programming on instead - limiting prem broadcasts to stupid fox soccer. Although ESPN does broadcast about 1 game per week.

So, how long until goal-line technology? Chelsea's non-goal goal changed that game

Won't be in until it becomes a hell of a lot cheaper to implement, I seriously doubt it'll be at the club level any time soon.

If anything we'll end up getting 2 more referees watch the goal line

i agree it'll happen at the international level first - world cup/euros especially - but i can see it coming to the prem, la liga, bundesliga, serie a (the top flights in top countries) pretty soon

Anyone else hear about Morosini who died yesterday while playing for Udinese? This article was written 11 hours ago, saying that Udinese were going to look after his disabled sister.

Antonio Di Natale has now committed to full guardianship for Morosini's sister for life, although the club are still involved somehow. What a great thing to do. Di Natale is such a class act.

lol, Ajax completely turned it's position around in the Dutch competition. From 4th to 1st place with 6 points between them and 2nd place in 3 matches. AWWW YEAH.

Therein lies the argument. Why should the top flight teams get it and not anyone in the lower leagues? Even then some of the clubs in the top tiers would struggle to afford the installation and upkeep of goal line tech.

But to play devils advocate, introducing it to some divisions and not others is the main reason its not in yet. It would quite possibly create a rift in rules for top flight football and lower divisions.

Can't have one rule for the Manchester Uniteds of the world and other rules for the Bristol Rovers.

Basically everyone else fucked up. Ajax was only about 2 points behind to begin with (and they were tied with 5th and 6nd place! Can you imagine that, 6 teams only a couple of points between?)
Anyway, 1st place (AZ) had to play 3rd place (FC Twente), they tied. 2nd place (PSV) fucked up big time, but then again they didn't play well last few games either. 5th place (Feijenoord) also tied and Ajax themselves had to play 6th place, which they won.

Then I believe it was AZ that had to play PSV, which was a tie. And Twente fucked up. Which is basically how that happened.

Anyway, it was a major clusterfuck for all other teams except Ajax. Everyone had hoped for a last gameday in which at least 4 out of 6 teams still had a shot at championship (wouldn't that be epic?), but it turns out Ajax is going to win early now. Not as exciting, but as an Ajax fan you're not hearing me complain.

Dutch competition has been extremely exciting the last 5 years. With 1 exception, all had it decided in the last playing round. Twice even with 3 teams having a shot at it. (and 1 of those 2 times the favourite that all they had to do was tie lost and the 3rd favourite making up a goal saldo of 5 goals.).

all credit to Wigan, we created nothing, nothing at all. clearly missed arteta after he went out, not like anyone in the arsenal shirt had a terrible game (tho djorou didn't look comfortable at all today). wigan were just the better team today.
woulda expected arsenal at home to solidify 3rd place but we couldn't do it, really disappointing

I do actually vaguely remember last year's Eredivisie ending quite spectacularly. Ajax won it last year, right? I remember Suarez going back to pick up his winners medal.

In reply to cubsfan05, #30470:

What the hell is going on with Wigan lately? I know they have a run like this once a season that makes them stay up, but they're on some kind of giant killing spree at the moment!

Yes they did. It was crazy yes. Kinda similar like they're doing this year: play bad at the start, and then just making a magical comeback the 2nd half of the season.

damn, sooo many wasted chances for Arsenal. probably shoulda won it, but draw's a fair result. going into the game, really woulda expected to win it. 3rd place is still ours to lose tho

Anyone think Newcastle will finish in the top 4?
i never expected them to be there now, but they are

We have a good run in and at least a 3 point lead over the scum in 5th, after their game in hand :)

They still have to play city and tottenham but its pretty much theirs to lose right now, like 3rd is ours, even with all our injuries

Newcastle has the hardest road, Chelsea is next. Tottenham should sleep walk into 3-4 wins, but with the way they are playing, I doubt it. Arsenal has been very blah lately. RvP had so many chances but he has been off target.

van Persie wasted soooo many chances, it was incredible. and a lot were really clear cut chances not little half sights at goal. it was strange to see him really play quite poorly up top
