Let the Good Times RollLet the Good Times RollAlright, so here's the deal. The Drunk Tanks are still around, but we're not raiding as a team anymore. As I said about 6 months ago, the main raid force left and went to another guild. About half of those people have since quit the game, including myself. Real Life needed more of my time, so I had to make a choice, and WoW didn't make the cut.

The game is fun, and the people you meet will become family in time, which is why I kept playing so long. If you are looking for people with common interests, you want to talk, and you have the time, this is a great group of people.

If you want to join DT, Loclear is the GM now and I trust him with the guild. Go find him and enjoy it.

      The Drunk Tanks

It's been almost 3 months since the raid group decided to take a trip from the DT shores, to a much less forgiving place. We decided to join another guild named Killing Time. At the time, we thought it was the best move, we wern't getting the numbers we required to keep raiding, and they offered to help.

Now, we're a 2nd group raiding under their flag, with 90% DT vets in attendance. Drunk Tanks as a guild has become yet another glorified chat room, with a small amount of gold to take care of guild repairs.

I brought up the idea of coming back, getting our guild back in shape, and running under our flag again. It was decided to not do this, however, due to our lack of renown in this expansion. Killing Time has the reputation of being a top raiding guild on our crummy server. If we were to lose a player, it would be a lot easier to replace them in a guild with a name. It's also worth noting that we don't have to do any work on the guild itself.

The guild Drunk Tanks still exists, in a ghostly sort of way. People still log on use the perks, and leave when they get bored, same as always. But at some point, I would much rather go back.

Things can change quickly in a video game, especially as big as WoW. It's been 10 days since everything looked so good, and felt so right. But sometimes reality decides that your life needs a change of pace, and some new experiences.

I'm sad to say that the raid group has decided to disband and will be going their separate ways. We had a good run, almost 3 years of content, but with that comes a considerable amount of burnout from a Mon/Tues/Thurs schedule 45/52 weeks/year for 3 years.

I want to thank all of our raiders over the past few years for their outstanding dedication in making us a somewhat respectable guild on Dawnbringer (which might not be saying much, but I appreciated it) and I hope those who continue to raid have the best of luck in their killing of bosses and amassing of loot.

With this in mind, I'm personally taking a break from World of Warcraft. I may hop on periodically to check out new content, or play casually with friends, but my reason for continuing to play are the people I played with. So to all of you in the guild, I am truly grateful to have been your GM, and I hope our paths will cross again in the future.

      The Drunk Tanks

Just wanted to give everyone an update on how the guild is doing.

Attendance is still up, we are always inviting people, so do not hesitate to talk to ask for an invite in game. We've got a raid group going, and we are trying to get a 2nd one running soon, but we are always looking for some avid PvP players and even just good RT fans who are looking for a guild to call home. Also, congrats to the guild for getting FOUR Realm First Achievements (First Level 90 Mage and Warlock, First Maxed Alchemist, and First Guild to Max All Professions)

The raid group has surpassed my expectations, we are currently 1 boss away from completing the current content on Normal, and we will start tackling heroic modes soon. We're currently also looking for a raid ready Warlock.

Patch 5.2 isn't too far away, and from what I can tell, it will be an epic amount of content, with a raid potentially bigger than Ulduar. Now's the time to join....again....or for the first time.

We've gotten a lot of comments requesting invites on the site, and we love the enthusiasm.

Best thing I can say is, this website isn't directly connected to the WoW servers, so informing us that you want an invite here only goes so far. Easiest way to get into the guild, is to contact us during our raid times, which are 8pm CST Mon/Tues/Thurs.

When Mists hits, it will be a lot easier to find us because we will all be grinding our way to lvl 90 to start the new raids, but until then, our raid times are the best time to contact us.

Send me a message here or in WoW if you have any questions or need another time due to whatever, we're helpful like that.

The upcoming patch implements a lot of the expansion changes prior to the expansion itself. If you are interested in trying your new skills in a raid, join us on Tuesday, August 28th 2012 at 8:00pm CST for our return to raiding.

If you are interested in getting into the guild, that would be a good time to show up to request an invite.

      We'll see you all then.

I've created a sort of advertisement for recruiting in the RT Subreddit. I have no idea how much interest it will create, if any, but for those who have questions from there, or just want to give suggestions, here is a good place to put them.

    • Taking a Break

      The Drunk Tanks

Just wanted to make it official. The main raid group is going on hiatus for a little bit.

This is not due to anything anyone has done, or something like that. Simply put, we have been raiding the same content for almost 8 months. I don't need to tell you that it gets old pretty quickly. We are only 5/8 on heroic modes, but with the ever looming release of Mists, and the inevitable retirement of our epic/legendary gear for greens/blues, the group agreed that we should take a break.

The current plan, as we see it, is to return in force when the 5.0 patch releases, so we can get a feeling for the new talent system, and all the wonderful nerfs/overpoweredness each class now must endure.

We do understand that given such a long break, as that we do not know when the release of this patch is, will undoubtedly result in some loss of players. That is to be expected, but we also expect an inrush of new people, wanting to try out the new system prior to the release of the next expansion. We welcome all, and will do our best to facilitate the same fun atmosphere we have always had.

    • SWTOR Drunk Tanks & WoW Drunk Tanks

      The Drunk Tanks

I think it is important for our guild to comment on the the events that occurred with the SWTOR Drunk Tanks.

The WoW Drunk Tanks were created by Jack, as a place for the Rooster Teeth community to play a game together with a common appreciation for the content that they produce. Over the course of Jack's leadership of the guild, our population exploded from a mere 200 to the maximum limit of 1000 in only a few months. We were living the dream, we got to play a game on a daily basis with one of the employees of the website we all loved.

Once SWTOR went into Beta, Jack decided he wanted to give it a try, and he thought it was absolutely awesome. He became more interested in playing SWTOR than WoW even as just a Beta. So we began seeing him less and less until a couple weeks prior to the release of SWTOR, when he handed the GM role over to me. With the loss of the celebrity figure, the guild slowly began to dwindle, and we are now back a small community of both Rooster Teeth fans, and WoW enthusiasts.

I want to make it perfectly clear, there was no animosity towards Jack for deciding to play another game from myself or any of our officers. It is completely understandable that someones interests in a game may change over time. An MMO is intrinsically stagnant while content is being generated. The current end game content has been around for almost 8 months now, and our main raid group is even getting tired of it.

During the time when Jack was still GM of our guild, but hadn't logged on in a couple months due to SWTOR, I ran the show as best I could. I will admit, there was some frustration with the lack of guild control, but we would never try to steal the guild out from under him. If I had an issue, I sent him a message via this very website and he would fix it.

The point of me telling you all this, is that I and my guild do not condone what the SWTOR Drunk Tanks have become. It is not acceptable to steal a guild out from under someone with out some sort of conversation, let alone harassment when they try to figure out what happened. We are proud to be an official Rooster Teeth guild, because that is what we all came here to be a part of. We no longer recognize the SWTOR Drunk Tanks as our counterpart, and wish Jack, Adam and the rest of the RT crew happy gaming, and a welcome invitation to an RT guild that would go bananas if they showed up.

    • Mists of Pandaria Recruitment!

      The Drunk Tanks

Mists will hopefully be out this year. We can only hope it doesn't hit any time around Borderlands 2 or Halo 4.

That being said, we are reforming our raid group at that time to become a little more aggressive on our server. We'll still be the fun loving guild with all the antics you've come to expect, but we want the raid group to be a little more serious.

If you have an interest in WoW after all these years, and you want to raid with the guild that Rooster Teeth made, then please, send me a message, or an in game mail on Dawnbringer.
