Back on the air as of May 26th, 2012.

In the early morning hours of April 1st, 2012 Adult Swim, pulled what very well could have been the cruelest April Fools prank in years. Instead of going with their annual airing of the hilariously bad cinematic masterpiece, The Room, they instead opted for bringing back the Toonami block for one glorious night of nostalgia. What they probably didn't expect were the ratings, with some 1.4 million viewers tuning in.

In the span of only a few hours, their Twitter page was flooded with tweets from overly enthused fanboys/girls and links to Youtube videos showing those very fans giddily squealing in delight as they were once again treated to childhood gems like Dragon Ball Z and Gundam Wing. This led Adult Swim to tweet "Want it back? Let us know. #BringBackToonami" the very next day. To which the Toonami faithful collectively answered "um, yes please."

The end result being the announcement of a new programming block every Saturday night, beginning May 26th, 2012. One with more anime, more T.O.M., and fewer creepy owl people. On that note:

The best thing to come out of an April Fools prank since the Star Wars Tauntaun Sleeping Bag.

Evangelion 1.11 and... JUST READ!!!

-New Absolution
-New web comic
-One Piece airing later in the year.(If anything, this is a sign that Toonami will be around for at least the next decade, considering how long it'll take them to air all the episodes.)

They really do love us. Toonami feels like Toonami again. And you can just sense Sara's return on the horizon.

And for those of you who haven't tuned in for a while, GET BACK ON IT! They recently started airing Soul Eater. Very much worth watching.
