New World
After a plague sent Australia(I am Kiwi, Australia is on our hit list) dark. The Scarlet Eagles have investigated and discovered that it is a form of rabies, a Bioweapon believed to have been developed by the terrorist group 'Deep Damnation'. It has the appearance of a Zombie apocalypse but is far from it, not nearly as infectious and those who are infected are not necessarily contagious nor aggressive beyond containment. This does prove however that the terrorist group is far more of a threat than before thought.
The rest of the world however is in relative peace, and many enjoy scientific discovery.
Much like the American President of America in the Old World, the ruling royal family, De'Tarregon, is the major political force for most of the populated countries. Their main military force is the Scarlet Eagles, run by Exys Bates, and Azuri is their not so secret 'secret weapon' also known as Exys' wardog. The secret forces who maintain missions that include the regions of the Old World are known as the Azure Dragons, they are lead by a man of Dwarven inheritance known as Jonathan Khan.
The main religion within the New World is based from Christianity, although no longer controlled by the Catholic Church. There are many variations on this religion of the one God but they all hold true to His Kingdom on earth and in Heaven, and His truly the one Lord.
Some may think that the New World is lacking in technology as one will first notice the lack of motor vehicles, and in their stead horses and Pouakai(giant eagles from the sanctuary islands of New Zealand). But in truth the New Worlds technical superiority is in truth because of the Gift, allowing them alternative paths to choose in the sciences.
The Gifted are able to wield fantastic abilities which in the past made them superior in combat than any mortal man, with the use of science the New World was able to understand the Gift and now they stand as equals among the general populace.
Old world is just the real world, both worlds are at the same time, within different dimensions you could say, if you have ever watched Fringe then you will know what I mean.
Rules:

Drastic reconfigurations!
Ok, big changes! I've decided to get rid of the Azure Dragons, instead, all responsibilities that they used to handle, like dealing with cross over victims, falls to the Jumpers. Also, Azuri is no longer Azuri, she is known as The Azure Dragon, Commander Bates calls her Blue, soldiers call her AZ.
I've also sorted out how people ride dragons:
Small saddle that supports the lower leg and foot, the foot and knee are supported and held in place so the rider doesn't fall off. Arms that press against the wing lift the saddle and rider up when the dragon lifts its wings. Each side of the saddle move independently. A handle in front of saddle allows the rider a handhold.
