A group for fans of the Star Wars fanfilm trilogy by Stepladder Productions
The Unwritten Rule Trilogy is an amusing spin on the Star Wars mythos, bringing Jedi Knights into the Present Day and teaching us that the line between the light and dark side of the force is far more blurred than we thought.

In 2003, inspired by the quality of work coming out of the Star Wars FanFilm scene, which at the time was at its peak, three friends decided to create their own visual effects spectacular, "Shotgun". And it was during the creation of this short film that a happy accident occurred (Jon jumped off a stepladder and fell on his arse), and Stepladder Productions was born.
"Shotgun" was well received, both among friends and from within the FanFilm community, which encouraged the Stepladder boys to expand their idea of the "unwritten rules" into a fully-fledged trilogy of short films, dubbed "The Unwritten Rule Trilogy". Setting the films in reality, as opposed to within the Star Wars universe, was what separated their offering from the majority of the other FanFilms of the time, and was used as the basis of the trilogy's humour.
"The Unwritten Rule Trilogy" is downloaded or streamed over the web constantly and remains a favourite among the FanFilm community. "Ex", the third chapter in the trilogy, has even been shown at Conjure, Australia's premiere sci-fi convention, and has been viewed on YouTube more than 265,000 times. Although, that’s probably more to do with the naked chick in the thumbnail than its reputation!
