Out of Mind on RvBThe first installment of RvB's Xbox Live mini-series, Out of Mind, is now in our video archive for Sponsors and will be made publicly available soon. If you haven't had a chance to check this out yet, why not stroll over to the Season 4 video archive and take a look?
I also hear that Part Two of OoM went up on XBL today, in all its HD glory. If you are one of the fancified technocrats who has all the latest gadgetry, then you're in the perfect demographic to enjoy twice as much OoM as the the rest of us. Good for you, smart guy.
OoM will air in five installments over the course of the next four weeks. Enjoy.

Otakon this weekendOur summer tour is continuing this weekend as Kathleen, Dan, and myself will be appearing at the incredibly popular Otakon in Baltimore. If you are one of the billions of people who will be attending this event, I recommend that you stop by our booth (#601), so we can mooch off of you. I hear Kathleen will show her "special" tattoo to anyone who asks. We will have some special merch on hand as well. *wink*
Additionally, August 11-13th will be RvB: TO in Toronto (obviously). Dan, Kathleen, and Nico will be attending, and I hear Dimono has promised to buy free drinks to anyone who asks. What a guy.

Ahh... MemoriesWe're all back from San Diego where we had a great time at this year's Comic Con, or as those in the know are now calling it, "Snake on a Con." There were more Snakes on a Plane sightings at this year's event than light sabers, which may signal a truly frightening development in pop culture.
While we were in San Diego (also known as "Snakes on a Diego") we took every opportunity we could to visit the local sports bars. We were hoping to catch our newest NCAA commercial, "Memories," on ESPN and impress our waitress and anyone within earshot of our horribly obnoxious bragging. Sadly, we did see it, but it did not impress our waitress, or anyone else. That is, unless the bartender yelling, "G... Ahh... Regardless, we hope it pleases you. We've posted "Memories" in the Rooster Teeth video archive.

Comics GaloreHey Everyone,
I don't know if you are all aware, but a couple of very cool things happened today. First, Jason took his weekly shower (thank God), and second, the Halo Graphic Novel came out!
Apparently the comic book distributer people thought we were a real company for some reason, and offered it to us at wholesale pricing. Realizing it was only a matter of time before they realized their mistake, we bought as many as we could. Now we (in our infinite business wisdom - burnie took a class at a community college in 1993) are selling it back to the Halo community at cost. It normally sells for $25, but you can get it from us for $12. As Gus would say, we are passing the savings on to you. ... Comics GaloreHey Everyone,

Quantities are extremely limited, and since this is the first thing we've ever sold that is "good", we expect to run out of stock quickly, so it's a limit one per customer kind of thing.
And speaking of comics, I'm currently typing this post to you from our booth at the San Diego Comic Con. If you are attending the comic this year (and I'm assuming you are as apparently everyone in America is apparently here), I insist that you stop by booth 5563 (that's us). You can find us by walking into the D entrance and heading all the way to the back (right behind the Sci Fi Channel's big spaceship thing). Almost everyone from the show will be here, and we will have 5 exclusive convention shirts that are totally awesome.
P.S. Bring booze. UPDATE: Our stock of the Halo Graphic Novel is sold out. All together, it lasted less than one hour. Wow.

Working VacationAfter wrapping Red vs. Blue Season 4, everyone thought it would be a good idea to take a short break from production and recharge the creative batteries. However, once the break started, a couple of really interesting opportunities came up and that kind of got thrown by the wayside. So, we went back in the studio to produce some really cool stuff. I mean, what better way to spend our vacation than by producing videos? We so rarely get a chance to do that. ;)
The first cool thing was the chance to do a more "serious" Halo machinima mini-series on the Xbox 360, but you already know about that. The first cool thing was the chance to do a more "serious" Halo machinima mini-series on the Xbox 360, but you already know about that. The second cool thing hasn't been mentioned on the site yet, but if you watched a certain sporting event recently, you've already seen it. Back in May, we were asked to direct the television commercials for the summer EA Sports releases. The first spot, for NCAA 2007 featuring Reggie Bush, aired for the first time a few nights ago during the MLB All-Star Game. There will be more spots for more games airing in the future, hopefully we'll get some warning before they hit the airwaves and we can let you know about them in advance. In the meantime, you can look for them in the Rooster Teeth video archive.
Also, we're going to be at ComicCon this week, so if you're going, be sure to come by and see us. Gus, Geoff, Jason, Burnie, Kath, Yomary and I should all be there. Plus a couple of dudes in red and blue armor should be making an appearance.
With OoM production wrapping up this week, our event calendar winding down and the commercial stuff coming to end, I guess we'll just have to go back to doing what we do best -- making goofy machinima videos for the net. We're looking forward to it.
One last thing, you have may noticed or been annoyed by or been in withdrawal because of the recent site outages. Gus assures us that these temporary growing pains will be well worth it when the site hardware upgrade is complete in a few days. Thanks for sticking with us.

Go Outside! This is just a friendly warning that the website you are currently viewing will be offline most of this weekend. We are going to be taking the site offline for some extended maintenance in order to improve overall site performance. If I had to describe the work we will be doing in one word, that word would be "bitchin". Everything should be back to normal and working fine by Monday morning, just in time to help you waste your day away at work.

Anime Expo!It seems like lately every post I make to the front page is about a convention. I think I need to change that....I'll wait till after this post though.
May I have the attention of people who live in the state of "Southern California". This holiday weekend (July 1st through 4th), Rooster Teeth will have a booth at Anime Expo in Anaheim California. I think the name Anaheim comes from a Native American word meaning "Southern Los Angeles", but I could be wrong. Joel (aka Caboose), Kathleen (aka Tex), Yomary (aka Sheila) and Gus (aka Simmons) will all be there (please note however that Yomary will actually not be at the convention on July 1st, I think Sheila's due for an oil change or some... We don't have any panels or anything, just a booth to take your money at. We are going to have a couple of our "con exclusive" shirts at the booth. They are shirts that are not available in the online store and you can only get them by buying them from us at a convention. If you want a map to find us (kind of like a treasure map), you can download one here. We will be in booth 954. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say one of the booths next to us will probably be selling figurines of disproportiona tely busty anime characters, and on the other side we will have a booth giving a demo on proper personal hygiene. Take a guess as to which will be deserted. If you guessed our booth, you win!

MaintenanceWe've been making some preparations for some site upgrades. One of the updates slowed the site down last week, and the web guys patched a lot of that today. So, if you saw some downtime, that's what is going on.
I normally make these updates in my journal, but I think I am going to use the RT tab for more community-oriented updates. Thoughts?

Out of SightWe're very happy to announce that as of today, Xbox Live Marketplace is featuring our new Red vs Blue Mini-Series, Out of Mind. When they asked us to make some new exclusive content for Marketplace, we thought telling a short story that's not part of the RvB storyline would be a great fit. The rest of this post contains some slight spoilers, so don't read on if you don't want to know.

It does not focus on the main characters of the episodic series. It's free to download, although the first episode weighs in at a hefty 168 MB (RvB:OoM is 720p resolution). May we suggest a game of Uno while you wait? I've been playing quite a bit and I think I finally found a game that I'm worse at that than Team Slayer.
Right now, Out of Mind is available exclusively on Xbox Live Marketplace. We hope to offer it on our site once it completes it's run, we will keep you posted.
I almost forgot to mention -- our technical staff (i.e. Gus) has completed the file server maintenance routine (i.e. drinking and playing WoW), so you can once again access RvB in all its digital grandeur.
