Nuking the fridge? Or Cellphone sonar?
Question came down today, which is a more useful term of when a Movie has gone to far? Nuking the Fridge from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull or Cellphone sonar from the Dark Knight?
Now, most people will write off Cellphone sonar because they full hearty believe the Dark Knight was "teh greatest movie eva!" But for the sake of this blog lets explore;
Nuking the Fridge: First fifteen minutes of the Indy film, Indy gives up like a little bitch, helps the Commies, hunts down an Alien body, kicks some ass and than hides in a fridge to escape a nuke. At this point most watchers go "Wtf?" But the movie makes up for it from there, fight scenes, funny dialogue, the motorcycle chase, than once the monkeys show up it goes down hill. So by all means the movie makes up for it's screw up with the middle portion of the film.
Cellphone Sonar: The Dark Knight takes off, it goes up and down, personally I didn't think Ledger was the greatest thing on God's Green Earth, so it was a mediocre film. Then they pull out the Cellphone Sonar, in which I stood up in the film and said "What the f**k?" out loud. I thought I was the only one, until a listened to my friends and people on the internet. What does the Dark Knight do to try and make up for this screw up? They kill Harvey Dent / Two Face...Wait what? They kill the coolest SOB on screen? ...Screw that.
I'm upset, because of that Cellphone Sonar wins.
