Maptek locks up a playoff spot So it is now Week 4 of the Spring League, and as we are 8-0 with 3 goals against, we have definitely locked up our position in the post season as Yo-Yos, the 3rd place team, have 3 loses, and as such can't catch us, and I think I now guaranteed not to make the playoffs, as they have already lost twice to Thriller, but Thriller could still in theory catch us, as I believe if they beat us by more than 7-2, then they would win the head to head, and beat us outright, or if we lost both matches, we obviously could lose out to Thriller who only has one loss. As for this week, we were supposed to play BG and Team Assassins. We got the BG game over quick, as both teams were in the lobby right on time, and probably started the game at most 2 or 3 past 7:30. The game was over by 7:37 or so, and was a quick 9-0 win for Maptek. I managed 4 goals, and it probably would have been 5 with a perfect scoring average for me, but I was coming in on a side that had already been cleared, as my blocker had moved past, 2 guys spawned right in front of me as I was passing the outside spawn point, and I got hammered hard. Anyways, I respect BG, they may not be the best players, but they are there ready to play, which you have got to love. The same can't be said for Team Assassin's which failed to make the game, though I did get a hold of their TC about 10 minutes after their other match ended, he decided to forfeit because I guess he was having team issues, and as such was unwilling or unable to play. Oh well, we would have liked to boost our scoring average that little extra bit more by putting down another 9-0, but it isn't the end of the world. Assuming the rest of the regular season goes pretty well, we should be looking at a very high seed, which would be nice, and hopefully carry us far in the playoffs.
Anyways, so next week we have the other two teams in the division that are worth mentioning. Thriller is decent, and should be another good game. Yo-Yos are alright, but mostly they are a little overprotective of the ball, so our first game took FOREVER, or like 15 plus minutes, which I realize is not that long of a game, but it seems forever when the other team is taking 2 minutes between crossing the half court. There is being cautious and just being plain scared.
Looking forward to the last week and then the playoffs.
