why standardized testing blowsYeah, so I'm and Educational Assistant at a public school in Tennessee and I would just like to say T-CAP testing sucks. It's making the teachers crazy, it's making the kids crazy and it's making me crazy. And we have like oodles of special needs kids out there and each one of them needs to be tested one on one with a fully licensed teacher. Which I guess makes sense for some of them, but for my little autistic boy, he doesn't get any special treatment other than getting to be alone and he really doesn't need a licensed teacher. Although, he doesn't have one, he's got the most annoying woman I've ever had the displeasure to meet.
But yeah, I guess I'm lucky, I'm proctoring (meaing I'm sitting in the class to make sure no one cheats and the teacher does what she's supposed to do) but I'm in with a really great teacher who's letting me play on her computer. Hense the posting. Not that anyone ever reads them, but it's ok. But yeah, go No Child Left Behind. Except for that NCLB is a really stupid concept because children are going to get left behind. Some of them are handicapped mentally but aren't enough to be in special ed all the time and they get left behind when they have to take the same tests as everyone else. So yeah, Bush is an idiot. Go Democrats! When Clinton lied, no one died.........

(I'm such a girl!) Trading Spaces The Simpsons Family Guy Seinfeld Friends Monty Python's Flying Circus mostly anything that has a plot. I like a lot of shows that were cancelled and that makes me sad. But seeing as I don't have cable I deal with it and buy dvds. |
