"New" New Laptop
About four months ago I got a job that is 1000 times better than my last one. It pays more, has benefits, and the people respect me. After getting hired I decided that the first big perches I would make was a laptop. I found that most of the time that I am hanging around my friends all I want to do is show them the latest RvB, game, or website I have found but only having a desktop I could not do this without allot of trouble. Thats when I started looking around at different stores and websites till I could find something that I liked. After an eternity I decided on a Toshiba Satellite with a dvd/cd-rw drive, at least 40gigs hard drive space, 3.0Ghz processor, and at least 256mb ram. The only thing I had to do is save up that last bit to buy it when CompUSA had a sale. Only $799.99 (after rebates) for one. Its a Toshiba Satellite A75-S1253. It has everything that I was looking for and then some. The fallowing day I went and got it. Its been grate with only a few problems. The first was I could not get it to connect to the net thru its ethernet card. After racking my brain for two days I asked my roommate if the router we have is only setup for mine and his box. I so wanted to beat him with a dead fish when he said yes. He knew that I was having this problem and did not think of that. Then I could not run some of my old dos based programs. Windows XP really hates dos!!! I fixed that by downloading new ones that were either updates or did the same things. After that I decided to try out the WiFi but could not get online once more. One of my friends told me to renew the IP thru the cmd command and it worked, kind of. It tells me that some signals are to weak to use but other people around me have no problem.
