post RTX journalWell, it's about that time! Time to share my experience with the rest of the RT community.
I'd like to start off by saying, the four days I spent in Austin were the best four days of my entire life. Really. That goes without questioning.
Meeting all the cool new people at RTX was such a trip, everyone I met was so cool and the thing about going to an event like RTX is that you all share a common interest: gaming. So, you can't really look at someone and call them a nerd, or vice versa. Because you all share the same interests and have all rage quitted or you all have a bad-ass game setup, whatever! You all love that one thing and you all love watching the industry grow and meeting all the people.
RTX was the first convention that I ever went to. I've watched
videos of PAX and I've seen Comic-Con live streams and I've always wanted to go.
But I finally got to go, and it was the most memorable experience. Ever. Of all time. I can't believe I met the people who I've met. I've been following Rooster Teeth for a good 6, almost 7 years. And I finally get to meet these people who have brought a laugh to my life for such a long time. Not gonna lie, it was almost emotional when I was standing in line waiting to play Halo 4, and I yelled across the line to Burnie, asking if he was going to play, and he walks right up to me and started speaking with me and shook my hand.
It was just too crazy, even the little things were making my day. I got to meet pretty much everybody who worked at Rooster Teeth or had some affiliation with them in some way. One of the coolest things was meeting
Michael randomly in the expo hall, when people waited over 2 hours to shake his hand.
Ben asked nicely for us not to go into too much detail, but the film shoot on day 2 was so much fun. Who knew a guy like me could have so much fun waking up at 5am, and doing
things I can't talk about at 6am?
Meeting the freelancers was absolutely insane.
THE VOICES! I GOT TO HEAR THE VOICES IN PERSON! And since
Matt was the host of the "Meet the Freelancers" panel, I got to meet him as well. And when the Freelancers were doing their Q&A, some kid went up and asked Matt if he could do a quick Sarge quote. Matt responded, "Come on, man. We're at the Freelancers panel. Ask them questions! ........NOW,
SIT DOWN DIRT BAG.I just loved this experience completely. Seeing the guys at the RT panel was great, and sitting 4th row back at the AH panel was amazing.
My brother going up and giving Michael a hug. Buying an original SNES with Mortal Kombat II.
The people who I've talked to were right,
Matt is one of the nicest guys ever. So is Burnie and Jack.
Meeting Joel was the craziest thing that's ever happened to me. People waited so long just to get him to autograph something and talk about stocks with him, and at the end of the event, after almost everybody went home, I saw him. I went up to him and I got to speak with him and have an actual conversation with him. He was the nicest guy I've ever met. Between him and Burnie, I felt like I actual made true friends, and it was awesome.
This entry was a lot longer than expected. It probably won't be read by anybody, just me sharing my experience.
See you all at #RTX2013.
