R7 - sadly I tried to get a group of people to yell out the RTX ... but it sounded like me and two 7yr olds (which it was) instead of a crowd. That's why I tried to make it different by whisper it loudly and puting some echoy phasery stuff on.
No, I didn't play the drums. While I think that the beat is in my realm of abilities, the fills aren't. And that middle bit (with the names) I programmed by hand. The drums are from EZDrummer (the easiest way to do drum tracks).
It was just a bit of fun ... and I had to resist putting a shred guitar solo in it somewhere.
R7 - everyone hates the sound of their voice. I think Jon Bon Jovi once said that even after all these years he still can't believe people like the sound of his voice.
I think the main thing that people hate is their lack of confidence or tune ... everyone's voice is different.
Good work! I've been using the drums sounds on Mixcraft. I can get it to sound pretty good, but for the most part I don't put in the effort because I intend to get an actual drummer on those songs. (Though, when I do want to put in the effort, I make sure to make little changes in the groove throughout the track, as well as subtle changes in cymbal volume) I looked into EZDrummer just now, and it looks legit. Your song has a nice humor to it!
Hey man, thanks for that. I've always been wanting to do fun stuff like this ... but the drums were always the hard bit. Thankfully one of my mates showed me EZDrummer and it's like a light went on. The drum parts in my music went from being the crappiest part of the song to the best par...

I've listened to that song above about 50 times now since I loaded it ... and there's so much I want to fix in it. I guess that's always the way.
I really wish I could have had the time to do the crowd vocals on it like R7 suggested (which I had already tried).
Yeah, that's how it is for me, too. I did a version of "Poor Tom" by Led Zeppelin, and I must have gone back and changed things for half of a day. Adding mandolins, adding harmonies, redoing takes, etc.
Thanks - I didn't place though - was fun to do and I totally agree with the song that was picked as the winner. The other two songs probably depended on what sort of music you liked.
