oh, hey. there's a new Grifball laptop bag. That looks kind of sweet. Thanks to Kerry for the modeling assistance. Hottest photoshoot ever. of all time.

One last thing. I used a non-printed version of this bag while I was running around Pax East this year. It's a pretty swell bag. Looking forward to using it again in it's finished state.

Random Leader board TriviaAmongst my various tasks at RT is to update the RvB leader board. Creating it was one of my first projects when I started with the company last year and anytime there's an update I get to adjust it and spit out a new version for the animators. Doing some work on a future episode*, I remembered one of the little idiosyncrasies that I'm not sure anyone has ever noticed. There are no 3s.

If you go back and watch past episodes where the leader board comes up, you'll notice that all of the scores never have a three in them. There's nothing sinister going on. The 3 in the font we use just happens to look much more like the greek letter epsilon than it does a 3. Someday maybe I'll have the time to adjust the glyph inside of the font, but for the moment there will never be a 3 on the leader board, it just looks too awkward.

So ends our silly piece of trivia for the day. Back to work.

I'm traumatized...the Austin Cricketing continues unabated. Like some sort of zombie outbreak, you can't go out during the night without being assaulted by the skittering, jumping screeching creatures and they continue to find their way under the RT refrigerator. I had hopes that after our perilous mission chronicled in the RT life video would be the first step in our triumph over the masses but this morning I knew that was not to be.

Since that first melee we've had other skirmishes with the crickets. The bodies, thankfully one sidedly have continued to pile up. One evening last week we unleashed my dog Asta on them. She managed to eat several of them in her short visit to the office but nothing prepared me for this morning's mission.

Our staff meeting this morning was joined by a chorus of chirping that continued unabated afterwards. I, driven to the edge of sanity, ventured down to find the 'cricket' underneath the fridge. I grasped the handles on the fridge and gently rolled it forward. Scared, the 'cricket' momentarily stopped chirping. Having pulled it forward enough to peer around the side I stopped in my tracks. There in front of me were more than a dozen skittering hopping crickets. With no viable weapons on me aside from my shoes I had to wade into the morass and begin 'the stompening'. I'm not sure wether this signals a turning in the tides of the cricket war, but I know that I will be haunted (for at least the rest of the day) by the sound of their bodies crunching beneath my feet.
