RTX Blog part 1So I'm here in my hotel, been an interesting trip so far. I come all the way to Texas from NY and where is my cab driver from? Albany! Who'd have thunk it!?!

Had trouble sleeping last night. I was too excited. I was looking up transportation routes and plotting and planning where and what to eat. Then I woke up an entire hour before my alarm was set to go off. Thank the Cosmos that there's a coffee pot in the hotel. My only complaint so far is the fact that I can't smoke in the hotel room. That's highly annoying but I get it.

Hopping in the shower now and then trekking down to the convention center to register and start performing my Guardianly duties.

Conversation with the LandlordSo I run into my landlord this evening. I ask him how it's going. He says, "Pretty shitty, but what else is new?" So I laugh and shake my head at him and he says, "What the fuck is so funny?" I reply, "Man, you can't ever look on the bright side of anything." "What the fuck," he starts, "what bright side?"

So I explain to him that his property survived an earthquake and a major hurricane in the same week, in an area where the buildings aren't built to withstand either. He pauses, obviously in deep thought and then says, "Fuck that I'd rather have the insurance money so I could retire"

Lol, I had nothing to come back to that so I just walked away with my jaw hanging wide open...
