Lazyness...Well I'd actually post something but I'm lazy so (not even going to spell check):

Port O'Go-Bye-ByeSo yesterday I took time off work and went to the UW Hospital and had my Port removed. after two years of having this nasty little parasite in my arm, its gone. I got it placed there in 2003 before starting 4 rounds of Chemo. Last month, my doctor decided to have it removed as I've been in remission for a year.
I posted a pic of the port after it was removed. Its next to a quarter to show size. Finally its out! I no longer have to deal with it. Not that it annoyed me its just nice to have it out. Its was the last physical reminder, minus the 8 scars.
The bonus is, it gets me light duty at work. Dont have to lug around monitors or PC, just have to fix software problems!
My Dog Griff Prt 2: Kitty Roca...Did I forget to mention how small Griff was when I got him? He was 2 months fresh and probably weighed around 7 pounds. I got him a shoulder harness so I could pick him up like a bag. It came in handy when I was training him to keep away from our roommates cats and areas he wasn't allowed in.
It's not that I didn't want him pestering the cats, I just didn't want to give them a chance to thwack him on the nose (and they would have too) I did how ever want him to get used to cats so he wouldn't end up like my sisters dog, Oliver. If I turn to Oliver and say "wheres the Kitty?" (this also works with any itty word.... Think about it) When I do it he freaks out and searches the house and yard four or five times, looking for a cat to tear apart.
**Funny side story**
We went to my moms house one day with Oliver and our old cat Mouse (16 years old) decided that Oliver needed some lessons in manners. Mouse chased him across the yard, pummeling Oliver's backside until my sister picked him up and restrained him while Oliver whimpered on the porch. sheesh what a chicken wuss.
**Back to main point (do I have a point?)**
One of my roommates at the time had 5 cats, it was a big house so it wasn't that bad, it was a merger of two groups of cats, Her 3 and her moms 2 (who we where renting the house from). Griff would start to talk (whine) when he got close to one of them, I guess he didn't know what to think of them and he wanted to play. He'd get close and they'd ignore him until he was within their comfort zone, then they'd move or swat at him. The best part was when Olive, aka Hank (honestly who names a male cat Olive) would let Griff approach really close and then jump onto book shelves, He'd just look at Griff like "what you can't jump up here? awe to bad"
The worst part about having cats and a dog in the house was the dominance issue. Griff was young but instinct kicked in and he wasn't going to sit around and let the cats own the house. He took over favorite sitting spots, competed for attention and wost of all he ate from the litter box... yea he did. Instead of telling the whole house "Griff just ate cat poop" we started calling it "Kitty Roca".
From what I can understand its a territorial/dominance thing, if the house doesn't smell, to the dog (who has a much better sense of smell) like another animal then its his. We had to watch Griff like a hawk after we discovered he was doing this. Lose sight of him once and all you had to do was head towards the litter box.
He earned tittles like Shit Eater and Turd Burger after that Needless to say we got him some mint flavoured tennis balls. He wasn't allowed to give us "Kisses" either.
