Later this year, prepare for a hilarious, sickening motion picture heading your way. 'Cannibal Grannies', as it is currently titled, sees the story of two old lady cannibals, terrorised by a group of teenagers who enjoy torturing the women. That all changes, however, when they manage to trap one of them and begin to figure out a way to beat the teenagers ...
Scripting is currently underway, as well as work on a musical score, including 4 songs to be positioned in the credits of the movie, produced by myself and possible instances of Play the B-Side work. Two of the songs you can come to expect in the movie and for download online are currently dubbed 'Victim Song' and 'No One Likes John', both of which are based on elements of the movie. Two other untitled songs are also in production.
Filming is due to be undertaken during summer, during July and August. Editing will commence during filming and following filming, and music will be produced while filming and editing goes on. Release is aimed for September/October this year, with a public showing at my college hoped for during this time. The video will be available for free online, with merch available if the production is well received, including a DVD planned. Expect DVD features to include director's commentary, out-takes, extended/cut scenes, a random mp3 of one of the songs in the credits, and possibly a video diary. A short CD is also possible, with the credit songs, plus other pieces of music featured in the movie, and extra special songs produced solely for the CD.
Further updates are on the way. Until then, begin planning the rest of your year to coincide with the public release of 'Cannibal Grannies'. Just sleep with one eye open until then.
Hello 2007.So, somewhere down the line, updates got incredibly scarce ... So, here is some news!
For anyone that gives a damn, me and a friend (Luke) are forming a two-man band named 'Play The B-Side' (at the moment anyway). We've got a couple of songs in the works at the moment and hopefully once they're all fully sorted they'll be up and on the net. Much as I hate MySpace, it's quite likely we'll end up putting a band page on there. My current thinking is that if anything 'big' happens, ie., we end up with a following of any kind, we will be making music videos too. Expect all this to happen primarily this summer.
The first song is called 'We're Not A Mainstream Band', and the words are all written. A tune is coming along shortly. The second song is called 'Graveyard' at the moment, though I think I'll change it. That's all been written too and the tune is being sorted on guitar at the moment, before we sort it on theremin (which Luke plays). Other songs in the pipeline right now are 'Parasite', and 'Men are from Mars, Women are Liars', both of which are not fully written yet.
Meanwhile, I'm continuing work on a novel I started writing last here. It's going slowly, but that's because I'm lazy and I don't work on it much.
And as well, today I got a 'pet plant'. It's a tiny little plant in a tube that grows, you dip it in water once a month to keep it alive. It clips to your keyring. It's awesome, I've got a tiny little cactus to represent strength.
Hopefully this keeps y'all happy for the time being!
