Mergh...I had hoped that the MJ coverage would settle down maybe a little after his memorial.
Instead, we have hours of media coverage on who the biological father of his kids are (private maybe?), the conditions of his face and whether there will be an open- or closed-casket funeral (private, MAYBE??), and the assumed location of his corpse at every single moment (PRIVATE, MAYBE?!).
In our devotion to a monumental icon of music, we have defiled the only sanctuary of privacy he had left.
What glimmer of faith I've had left in mainstream media has been shattered. YAY

Vacations...and PrincessesSo I'm finally getting a vacation; last time was late last year. No work for two weeks, and time to just relax and enjoy life. As per usual, I'm heading to Minnesota to the family lakehouse. Waterskiing, tubing, I may even bring my telescope to check out the beautiful skies up in lake country.
On a whim, I rented Princess Mononoke from Netflix, and watched it last night. What a fantastic movie, and a great start to my vacationings...now if only I didn't have to work this afternoon.

RvB Recreation and Catching UpSo Recreation looks to be interesting. What's this I hear that Tucker's dead though? We haven't even seen him recently. If anybody knows where this is coming from, I'd love to hear it; Tucker was never really my favorite but he had his moments early on in the old series.
My birthday's on Sunday, which is exciting. Unfortunately it's also my girlfriend's last night in town, and I work. What the h. Probably going to have to have someone cover the last bit of it for me, so I can spend some more time with her. If you weren't aware, she's going to New Zealand to study next semester, so I basically won't see her till December. Which is a really long time to not see someone when you've only known them for six months. So while I'm really happy about it, I also am really bummed; she's the first actually awesome person I've dated in about four years, and we're going to have to put things on hold till she gets back. Woo Skype.
I've been trying to search for headphones, I have had crappy earphones since my last pair broke in January. Checked out Best Buy, and found that a lot of companies are charging way too much for, well, everything. Probably the best thing I found were Skullcandy Skullcrushers...only $70, but a little too obnoxious with the bass. I listen to music that's good enough without physically assaulting my lower register. The worst deal I found were Beats by Dre, from Monster. Only $229, for an unremarkable, over-styled pair of headphones. Fail.
I'm going to keep doing my research for good, audiophile-quality headphones, but if anyone has any good recommends, or reviews, I'd love to hear them.

Fluxx and ChrononautsHas anyone played these games? I played Fluxx in middle school and just got a new deck; I can't stop playing it. The best part is that whoever I play it with, they always seem to love it.
Haven't gotten Chrononauts though, it sounds like such a fun game.

WowHaven't been on here really in a long time. For me at least. Things have been going well, I'm working full-time at my current job, which is something I've never actually done before. Just hope I don't get burnt out on that, cause it's the only reason I have money right now, heh.
The girlfriend is leaving for New Zealand in early July, and our last day seeing each other till December is on my birthday, the 21st. We're still not really sure what's going to happen to our relationship, to be honest. She's easily been one of my best friends in our past four months, and I'm really hoping that when she gets back that we'll get back together or at least be good friends.
Just got Left 4 Dead last night, played it with a buddy of mine from 1 till 3 in the morning, heh. Great game, but I really feel like it's built as a multiplayer experience. So if any of you guys want to play, don't hesitate to send an invite, heh.
