Iron Man 3 ThoughtsI am going to put spoiler space in a lot of this but the rest should be okay to read for those that haven't seen it.
The movie started with a song I totally did not expect but then when you realize it's a flashback it does make sense.
I was a little disappointed to find out that Tony was not using the suit utilizing Extremis. Also he barely even has a main suit this time since he spends so much time out of them and so much time in different ones.
The scenes with the kid were pretty fun and well done though I'm not sure they were all that necessary and it might have been better to get the same thing accomplished with a main character That said, I loved the part of the story that Tony has some major PTSD. It really makes sense with a character that think he knows everything and has control, only to find out there is so much out there and some of it is dangerous.
Now to the big part of the story...
The Mandarin does not even really exist. It totally shocked me and didn't play out how I thought at all. I always go into movies not expecting them to hold so closely with the source material.
This, however, kind of irked me a bit. The Mandarin could have totally worked with Kingsley at the helm. The terrorist thing could have worked so well and the "racist" part of it would have been a total non-issue.
As it is, the story does work and I get it totally. I was just really wanting an awesome Mandarin. Turning him into a joke is a little annoying.
So instead we get Aldrich Killian as "The Mandarin" and a nod to Fin Fang Foom with Aldrich having dragon tattoos and breathing fire since he is juiced up by Extremis.
I think that nod was cool but the same thing could have been accomplished with The Mandarin taking place of Killian.
I enjoyed what was done with Pepper in this move and I think it works very well.
I liked them bring Iron Patriot into the movie and thought it made sense, but then they treat it as a joke and it worked very well (even having the bad guys use it worked so well.)
What I do wonder now is do Tony and Pepper have a stable version of Extremis in them now? If they do then Iron Man could be very cool now.
The scene after the credits was great though not what I expected at all.

Iron Man 3 Adventure!Well we are all back from our Iron Mad 3 Adventure. Thursday we headed out for our fun. We watched Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, & Iron Man 3 in a day long Marathon on Thursday. It was a lot of fun. This morning we got up and around and then went to KC BBQ Store followed by lunch at Oklahoma Joe's. Then we went to Bass Pro Shops and picked up a few things. After that, it was off to The Legends and Cabela's (where we got to see the feeding). We finished that by doing a little shopping around there and some custard. Started the journey home and stopped at some random gun store on the way home.
It was a fun couple of days!
