How To: Stream on Twitch.tvWhy should I stream on Twitch.tv? Well if you want a free stream, with almost no restrictions and is easy to use, then use twitch! The main alternative is livestream.com. Livestream is a good site, but they limit you to 50 viewers! Your bandwidth is limited to 1mb or something around that. Livestream lets you stream your channel even when you aren't streaming and it's great for "programs" but for just streaming, best to use twitch.
I'm going to try to do this super simple steps. How to use twitch? 1. Make an account www.twitch.tv 2. Create a new channel 3. Download xsplit www.xsplit.com/get/ 4. Install xsplit 5. Open xsplit 6. Create an xsplit account www.xsplit.com/ 7. Log into xsplit with your new xsplit account
Now to set up your stream. You can change these settings: 1. Go to view > resolution 2. Choose 1280 x 720 3. go to view > scale viewpoint 4. Choose 50% or whatever you'd like so that xsplit doesn't take up all the screen!
Now to connect to twitch 1. Go to broadcast > add channels 2. click add > add channel > more 3. click install on the twitch option (should be the first one) and it will restart your xsplit 4. Go back to broadcast > add channel > twitch.tv
Last steps! 1. Add your username and password 2. choose your channel from the dropdown list 3. add your location (so it can get you the best connection) 4. That's it! You can look over the rest of the stuff to mess around with if you know what they do. Get out of the menu by clicking OK 5. On the main screen, go to Broadcast. 6. Choose the newly added twitch channel, and BAM! You're streaming!
Stuff to consider: On your channel page when you're logged in you can change the title, add backgrounds, etc. Before you start broadcasting change the title to match what you're doing.
If you have any questions or if anything is confusing or not clear, let me know!
