I got me a new dress. It makes me happy.

I should really invest in a camera other than my webcam.
Ever just feel the need to buy something for yourself? Ah yiss gratification.

Mind the gap.@Moeparker told me I should post the journey of making my custom valve inspired PC case here and SO I SHALL.
 All the warnings.
 Such a lovely valve.
 Top of the case.
Just UV Cathodes on. No orange portal.
 AND NOW WITH ORANGE GOODNESS.
And now here's how it was done, mostly:My brother and I finally finished the computer case.
The entire case was taken apart and then taped off, sawed into, and painted. To begin, the Aperture Laboratories logo was hand painted along the top of the case and then a Dremel was used to (carefully) cut out the logo. After this the top was sanded down to the metal casing, then primed and painted.
An oval window was cut out of one side panel for a portal to look into the hardware. The case was painted both white and black to give it an appropriate Aperture feel.
The really tedious part then came. Every wire inside of the case was individually stripped and re-sleeved in UV Orange(red technically), UV Blue, and White. The connectors were all replaced with UV Blue and UV Orange. The heatshrink is also UV Blue and UV Orange, and was put together so the blue heatshrink matches up with the blue connectors and then go into an orange connector. (Kind of like going through portals!)
In addition to spiffy sleeving, a new 120mm LED blue fan was placed underneath the aperture part of the logo and then a blue Cathode was placed underneath the rest of the words so that it would all glow blue. Three UV Cathodes are placed inside the case so that the UV Heatshrink, sleeving, and connectors all glow their brightest and prettiest.
Then a sleeved orange LED cable was placed along the inside of the portal(window) giving it a nice science-y glow. A valve was attached along the upper top of the panel to commemorate the company that created Portal.
On the other panel individual stickers were printed and cut out to resemble a test chamber wall. Complete with warnings and Aperture Science logo!
Whew. Maybe someday I'll post a nice slideshow tutorial of the madness.

I think this cosplay was meant to be.
Full view front and back for an awesome design?
:D
I've crafted my own patterns before for jackets, pants, a pleated skirt and my own belt plus pouch. It's like it was meant for me.

So...I started out with two chickens.

What have I done?

HEY EVERYONE!I hope you all are doing awesome. After some convincing over on the tumblr I am back and lurking here.
I am finishing up an A.S. and an A.A. and after passing the NREMT I am also a nationally certified EMT. I have one last science course to take in the Fall and then FINITO. At the moment I'm getting into wild land firefighting for the experience while waiting for cities to open up their application process again.
Additionally I've been working on some really amazing things with Mr. Moe. If you follow him you'll know, or you should totally just check out his latest journals.
I'm really excited about things to come. :D Along with first responder stuff (if my gorram state ever sends my state certification to practice medicine) there are a lot of great projects coming up, and I'm super excited for the opportunities it'll bring.
Hope things are swell wherever y'all are.

Congrats on 10 years RT!A little late to the party but I had to pop back in to say congratulations to the RT Staff and community on reaching a landmark ten years! I couldn't believe it when I saw the e-mails and posts lurking around the internet, but I gotta say, well done guys. You deserve all the success you've gained and more.
It was strange timing because when I went through my closet the other day I found two shirts I had bought the moment the store opened. They are a little short now, but they hold some seriously good memories.

Tex and Caboose were my favorite characters way back when in middle school, and I was thrilled to get the shirts. I was wearing them almost all the time, it drove my mom insane.
I'm really excited to see what the future holds for RT, and I smile every time I see something about the staff and their amazing work on other sites. You guys are fantastic.

Cosplays!
Ah yes, cosplaytastic.
Somehow fitting this in between EMS courses has been interesting that's for sure.

Cosplay and SchoolOh hey guys, it's been a little while. I hope you all are doing well! My summer was and still is chaotic.
On a positive note I've got some really great cosplays in store, and will be entering a costume contest possibly in February. We'll see how it goes but I can't wait to share the progress with all of you. One of them is going to be Silent Hill related, and it's going to be...Awesome, to say the least. Until then though I'll try to keep them a surprise.
I've got about two big costumes to get started on, but am always looking for suggestions from you guys on other costumes to create.
I'll probably still not be online much for updating. I've a lot going on in life, and am starting a medical degree along with my language degree this semester.
UNTIL NEXT TIME KIDS.
