Part 6 Sunday 13th Mother's day. Finished reading Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony, less then 24 hours after borrowing it off a friend Monday 14th Forgot my damn locker key Caught somebody parking out the front of the school where they shouldn't of been after school. They were a repeat offender and I was ready with my mobile phone camera this time. Tuesday 15h Somebody by the name of sam cross decided he'd call me gay. So I asked him "So what if I'm gay?" He told me "All gays are freaks". 15 minutes later he was in big trouble with the teacher. He just missed an in-school suspension and in stead got a friday afterskool detention and had to write a signed written apology to me. He hopefully learnt his lesson That night I went to the Police Air Wing at Essendon air port. It was really awesome. We got to see inside police helicopters and we got to see an ambulance helicopter take off and land. Wednesday 16h That day I lost my mobile phone. DANG! That night the Venturer Unit went down to our scout hall to check out the disused Rover Den, to see what we could do about cleaning it up and turning it into the new Venturer Den. Friday 18th Went on an excursion to Portsea and Point Nepean. If you don't know where it is, look them up in Wikipedia. It was for Year 11 Geography, and we had loads of fun, even if we got lost on the way down. It was a good excursion coz there are only 5 people in that class. I also found out that one of the guys in that class, Trent, likes The Eagles! That night I also joined the Artemis Fowl WikiProject (coz I'm sad). Sunday 20th I played the Halo 3 Beta at a friend's house. It was really really awesome, definitely worth getting. Can't wait I also saw Zelda Twilight Princess for the first time. It reminded me so much of Ocarina of Time, and made me really want to get a Wii just to play that game.
Well, that's it. I'm over with the catchup journals! (finally!). Soon: the unresolved issue I've been meaning to tell you about. 007bond aka Matthew G
Part 5 Saturday 5th I spent most of the day home alone listening to music It was also my grandpa's birthday that night, and we went out to dinner Monday 7th Got Age of Empires 2 off a friend at school so I can play at school Tuesday 8th Had my third sign language lesson. The main focus of the night was family signs Tried to do my homework while watching the Federal Budget Wednesday 9th We got to discussing our class today in school and realised that this is probably the best class made since year 7 because we're all one big friendship group and not a bunch of small groups who don't get on. That night I went bowling with Venturers. I came last in the 1st game by 1 point, and came Second in the 2nd game by 4 points. That night I also made a couple of new friends in the Venturer unit we're tagging along with. Thursday 10th At school I had a confrontation with one of the international students by the name of Pat Yang. I got fed up because they are allowed to get away with swearing in their language (korean) but we can't get away with swearing in our language. It was not the first time I'd pointed out the fact that he was doing something wrong, and was ready to get into a full-on fight about it. Friday 11th Had another IT test and got 19 out of 20 on it Also had a Maths test. I found out later I got 86% on it That night I started downloading Bullet in a Bible. I also finally took the time to look around JKRowling.com Saturday 12th I watched Bullet in a Bible (BiaB) first thing. For those that don't know, it's a recording of Green Day's American Idiot tour (called BiaB) when they were in England (more specifically the Milton Keens National Bowl). It's easily the best live concert ever. That night I went and found a whole heap of halo 3 beta footage on youtube. It looks freakin' awesome. I also started reading the fifth Artemis Fowl book (finally).
Part 4 Saturday 28th I sold raffle tickets for my scout group at the local supermarket That night on a TV show called Top Gear (it's all about cars, and is awesome, because even someone like me who doesn't give a damn about cars still watches it) one of the guys was test driving a BMW and got interrupted 5 times in quick succession by the Sat Nav woman, who he couldn't easily mute. MAY Wednesday 2nd Had my first training session for Indoor Soccer with school That night was the 1st wednesday night in years that I didn't have something on. I felt kinda lonely. Literally. Thursday 3rd Woke up to discover it had rained heavily overnight, which is great news here because we are in a water crisis. Looked up my school's wikipedia page to discover it has been vandalised many many times over the past year Went and saw Spiderman 3 (just 18.5 hours after it came out here). It's so great to be the only person at school to of seen the movie! Friday 4th Spent an age shopping for a birthday present for my grandpa after school Got a 20 out of 20 in a surprise IT test Finally watched the Music Video for Jesus of Suburbia. It was bloody awesome.
Sunday 22nd I started coming down with flu-like symptoms Monday 23rd This was the first real day back for Term 2 for me Tuesday 24th Had my first sign language lesson. Yes, that's right, I'm learning Auslan, the official language of deaf people in Australia! Wednesday 25th This is Anzac Day. If you don't know what it is, go to Wikipedia right now and find out. Once again, things happened on this day that I'm not gonna discuss yet (this'll all be revealed soon hopefully). On Anzac Day each year, Essendon and Collingwood play a football match. This year Collingwood won. This was good news for me as a Carlton supporter (although techinically being a Carlton supporter I can't go for either team) as Essendon had won too many games compared to Carlton at that point in time. Friday 27th On this day I had to say goodbye to one of my favourite teachers, Mr Marano. He was my home room teacher for part of 2005 and all of 2006, and my maths teacher for all of 2006 and all of this year so far. He left to spend more time with his mother who is really sick. That night I stayed up after midnight (dunno why), and finally slept in my bed in my new room downstairs. This was the beginning of me finally moving downstairs.
It's so hard to know how much to write each time! I hope I'm not overloading you! However I am about half of the way through it now. Hopefully I'll be writing more frequently 007bond aka Matthew G
Part 2 Wednesday 18th Day 3 of camp I slept in and was 5 minutes late for breakfast that morning. That day we had a two-part seminar (similar to the ones the day before) except this one was way more interesting and had an awesome DJ. The guy who ran it was a man by the name of Darren, and helped us to realise what we wanted to do in the future. He also showed us the music video for the song If Everyone Cared by Nickelback. If you haven't seen this music video, go find it right now and watch it, it's bloody awesome. Once again we had the whole afternoon free, and i just talked in the tree house with friends. That night we watched the movie Anchor Man. It was absolutely hilarious, but some parts near the beginning were a bit tasteless for my liking. "Skyrockets in flight (boooo...), Afternoon Delight! (Whooo!)" Thursday 19th This was the activity day of the camp. First my class went abseiling/rock climbing (we had to rock climb to get to the top of the abseiling wall. Then there was the giant swing (scary as). Then we had lunch. After lunch we had a couple of people from the Reach foundation come and speak to us. What happened in this session was just amazing. They started out by telling us about themselves, and then that every single one of us had to come and stand on a chair out front and sing in front of everyone. Obviously, no one did it, so they started to talk about what we wouldn't do it. They worked out that it was because we weren't confident in front of everyone. So they got us to all come together in a sort of group hug in the middle of the room, and then sit down. They played some music and talked to us for a bit with our eyes closed. When we opened our eyes, we had to take it in turn to apologise or acknowledge somebody else. Funnily enough, I got apologised to first. A few people ackowledged me or apologised to me, and I apologised to a couple of people. We must of sat there for over half an hour, and by the end of it I think nearly every single person was in tears. After the Reach session we had the High ropes course. At night we had a trivia night, we were split into groups of five and answered questions. My group came third (just). Friday 20th On the last day of camp, we had a guy called Tommy Hayfee come and speak to us. Tommy Hayfee is an ex-AFL coach and has done a lot with his life, and came as an "inspirational speaker". After Tommy we packed up, and left at about midday. However, before midday, I discovered something amazing. A guy named Scott in my year level (who's new this year) and me got talking about Green Day. He told me that the album American Idiot changed his life, because before it he simply did not listen to music at all. I was pretty amazed at that.
Anyway, I've talked for ages and it was only 3 days! I'll try and be more brief next time! 007bond aka Matthew G
It's certainly been a whileOK, bascially the day after i posted my last journal we hit 93% of our monthly usage (still 500 MB back then) so my dad took away the modem, and it stayed that way for most of the month. So, knowing this would be the case, I kept a "mini-journal". Basically each day I wrote down a few dot points on what happened that day, so I could tell you guys! So that's what's gonna be for the next few journals: me explaining what I've done for the past 4 weeks.
APRIL Tuesday 10th Went over the limit Wednesday 11th Scout Movie Night. We used a borrowed projector and Pinky's awesome speakers, and watched the following movies: Dead or Alive - I thought this was absolute shit Firefly Pilot (Finally) - Thought this was absolutely friggin' awesome, i can't wait to see the rest of it and Serenity. Ferris Bueler's Day Off - This was absolutely hilarious Monty Python's And Now For Something Completely Different - Extremely random, got bored of it after a while and actually slept through the 2nd half of it (the only sleep I got all night). The (New) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - It was alright, but not what I was expecting. Alan Rickman was perfect for Marvin though. Pirates of the Carribean 2 - Yes, I'd seen this before, but I wanted a mind refresh for when Pirates 3 comes out later this month Thursday 12th Slept for half the day because of the movie night. Friday 13th I had a bunch of friends over and had a mini-xbox day. It worked quite well, courtesy of the router and a cat 5 cable extender Sunday 15th Was convinced to go to a Jehovah's Witness (JW) Meeting. Anybody that knows me well enough will know that I am a big atheist, and despise religion, especially JWs. The only reason I went was to see what one of my friends from school is put through each week and why he can't celebrate his own birthday. Later that day I also finally beat Need for Speed Most Wanted, 18 months in the making! Monday 16th Left for School Camp at Healsville We had almost the whole day as free time because the person who was supposed to be coming to talk to us was sick That night we watched the most recent Romeo & Juliet movie because we're reading it in school this term. Some other things happened that day but relate to something big which I will tell you guys all about later (make sure you remind me! ). Tuesday 17th In the morning we had some boring seminars about goal-setting and preparing for Year 12 In the afternoon we had tonnes of free time. I went and talked with some friends in the tree house type thing. That night I heard about the Virginia Tech Uni Shooting and was quite shocked because we all knew it was only days away from the Columbine aniverssary (we watched Bowling for Columbine in school last term). That night we watched a movie titled Remember the Titans. It was pretty good.
No more 500 MB download limit for me!That's right, as of the 1st of May, 2007, I will no longer be restricted to that crappy 500 mb download limit. In stead, I will get 12 GB of downloads! Woohoo! I walked into my dad's office about 10 seconds before he changed plans, and i'm like "????????????" lol. Next thing I know, my Dad's changed plans, without any persuasion whatsoever! Youtube, Limewire and Bittorrent here I come!
In other news: Had a mini-xbox day on wednesday. Didn't like it much, because the people I played with have absolutely no idea what the difference is in size between Coagulation and Warlock. Went to a friend by the name of Josh (yoshiserry)'s house on Thursday, along with my brother Andrew (Lt_Testicle) and Josh's brother Daniel and his Dad. Literally did nothing but Halo 2 all day, except for a brief period where we had lunch, and when me and Josh played FIFA Football 2005. That day was a lot better, because those guys know a good map and a good gametype from a bad one. Friday I went and saw 300 (it finally came out here in Australia!). It was freaking awesome, but I gotta say, the sex scene near the start was kinda pointless. But otherwise, really really awesome, and I now know why everyone's been talking about it. It also makes you realise why Bungie chose to call the Spartans Spartans. Yesterday was gardening day. BORING Today was Easter! Chocolate! Actually, I didn't get that much and in stead got a book on comedy and a couple of pairs of shorts.
So yeah, that's pretty much everything that's been happening recently. My last journal shall be explained when it is resolved (still mad about it), and the relevant people know what's going on.
So yeah, for those still having it (stupid time zones), have a great Easter! See ya later! 007bond aka Matthew G
