Casino Royale. IN LEGOS.Holy crap... someone actually took the time to make a frame by frame recreation of the black and white sequence that served as the opening for one of my favorite Bond movies, Casino Royale. Seriously. Watch it.

Boston MarathonMy thoughts and prayers go out to anyone who was there at the race or in the crowd or even a family member/friend of someone affected by the blast that happened today. If you are wondering if you can do anything even if you're all the way out in California, there is one thing you can do that, while it may not directly affect anyone in Boston, its still the right thing to do: Go donate blood.
Seriously.
Check here for the Red Cross eligibility criteria for being able to donate and if you can, DO IT. You may not be able to help someone from the blast today, but you could help that car accident victim who was blindsided by a drunk driver or a kid who needs a transfusion. In the end it doesn't really matter who it goes to, it just matters that its there thanks to people stepping up to help out their fellow man. One of the best ways to do so is donate blood. Get on it people. Go find a blood drive near you.
RVB XThanks to an amazon Email, it looks like the RVB X box set for both DVD and BluRay are the deal of the week in movies. The DVD is down to $50 and the BluRay set is now $60 which is a HUGE markdown. Anyone out there think its definitely worth the pickup for that low of a price? I'd be snagging the BluRay set for sure.
OK Go new songI've been a fan of those guys since I got a copy of their little single CD (remember those? Had like 3 songs on it) that I got for free when I picked up my preordered copy of Weezer's Maladroit. I don't usually buy physical albums/CD's any more but I always make a point to get out and pick up an OK Go album. Well they've been in the studio recently for their latest album and they've released their newest song onto the interwebs called I'm Not Through. Its not a bad song at all if you're a fan of theirs so give it a listen to!

Bioshock InfiniteWith that insane preorder deal on Steam, I HAD to pick it up. Bioshock 1, TF2 items (meh), and XCOM: Enemy Unknown PLUS the regular ol preorder in game bonuses for Infinite? SOLD TO THE MAN FOR $60.
That said... I found a friend of mine on Steam who actually is PLAYING the game right now:
(local time in picture is Central. Home is Eastern)
So this one time I was honored by the Philadelphia Flyers...They've got this program where they honor people in the community and my dad submitted me for serving in the military. Apparently they lap it up with honoring military members so when I was back in the Philly area for work last month and had a night off, I was able to make it out to the game to be honored on the scoreboard by the team. I sent in some pictures to them for the montage while they introduced me.
Usually they only give the honoree and one other person a ticket but we were able to finagle our way into an extra ticket so me, my dad, and my girlfriend could go to the game. We were hooked up with some pretty awesome club box seats:
So in the second period they pulled me up to where they do the intros and well... I'll just get onto the picture spam:
Picture from my first hockey team the Medford Flyers squirt (9-10 yr olds) in-house team
Selfie I took during an 8 hour helicopter ride in Afghanistan
Picture from the 2013 Flyers home opener against the Penguins a week or two prior to the game I was honored at
My granddad and I after I graduated basic training
After a payday activities for my old unit
Flyers and Islanders tapping their sticks in salute ( )
Here I am in-arena getting presented a personalized sweater by Flyers legend Bob 'Hounddog' Kelly.
The personalized sweater with my number I used when I played (yes I know... personalized sports jerseys are frowned upon but when the team itself gives it to you... yeah you get a pass on that one)
After being introduced on the scoreboard, here's a picture of me with Bob Kelly and former Flyer (and coach of their ECHL affiliate) Todd Fedoruk.
As a MASSIVE Flyers fan for my whole life, I was pretty much grinning like an idiot the whole time. I had an amazing time that night (and the Flyers won!) and it was all thanks to a very classy organization.
(Oh and that scarf I have on is because it was Sons of Ben night at the game. The Sons of Ben are the supporters section for the Philadelphia Union MLS team that i'm a fan of so I was also showing my support for my friends there who happened to be sitting in the section right above where that last picture was taken)
More updates about my time home to come I guess...
An update on the update.I know I promised you people an update.... I'll get around to it on Friday/Saturday. Too busy working out at night after work then getting my girlfriend hooked on Battlestar Galactica.
