WBCSo...tomorrow the Westboro Baptist Church plans to picket the funeral of Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman.
The funny thing is, these...worshipers of God picked the convenient time where the ceremony of Jeff Hanneman is taking place. That means all of the fans that attend will be inside of a building while the WBC is sitting outside across the street with their signs of "love" and "peace."
If the WBC had some balls, they'd do it during the entire funeral service. But wait, they are doing this during a funeral service for a member of the thrash metal band SLAYER.
Expect something tomorrow in the news, because honestly, the last fans you ever want to piss off is Slayer fans.

The Last 24 HoursA lot has been happening here;
 First off, Minnesota Senate passed a bill to make my home state the 12th one in the country to allow for same sex marriage! Governor Mark Dayton is signing the bill today at 5pm CDT. So proud of my state.
@Kiyoshi and I announced the event that we have been planning for quite a while, with the help of others. Rooster Speak Meet Up Dinner! RS MUD! Buy your tickets and have some fun with us at the end of RTX!
I just got the brand new CD from one of my favorite bands, The Dillinger Escape Plan, entitled "One of Us is the Killer." The album cover was a freaking scratch off and it was awesome!
It is a really damn good album and not as insane as the last couple. Actually really opening for new people to give them a go.
Got an email yesterday and it lead to me being interviewed today for a design engineering position for a small company up here in the Twin Cities. I really enjoyed my time there and they did as well, so now I sit and play the waiting game!
Got my grades in for this final semester and got an overall 3.5 GPA!
RT MN happens in just over a week...holy crap! Going over final preparations with the guys and making sure everything flows smoothly. Can't wait to see all you MN folk!
That's about it. Felt like I should let you guys know!

I deleted that last journal because a bunch of trolls decided to try and make me feel bad about myself. In other news, I just blocked a bunch of trolls and decided to say screw them and what they think.

Rooster Speak + RTX = Looking for AnswersOkay, some of you may know that @Kiyoshi and I are trying to plan a Rooster Speak dinner meet up for Sunday, July 7th, in Austin to basically have a nice big send off for RTX similar to what we had last year. We don't want to run into the issue that we had last year, where 50 people showed up and the restaurants couldn't accommodate us (cause we were that awesome), hence this journal posting.
We are trying to to be as open as possible with this, so here we go.
The place we are looking at getting is the Cedar Door. They have a great deal for a large group of people, that being The Longhorn Room, details shown below.
That asterisk and the Food & Beverage minimum is where we are encountering an issue. This is all going to be on one bill, and the only way we can think of with this is that everyone has to pay up at the end of the meal and hopefully not bail out. We are worried about that, because whoever's credit card is used for the down payment of the $250 will get charged with whatever is left over if we don't reach the $1,000 minimum.
Here is a menu of what we would be offered at the location.
To avoid that possibility, and to make this as smooth of a night as possible for everyone; we've come up with this solution: sell tickets at $30.00 a piece, that will include the meal, soft drink, and the $5 donation to Child's Play. This gives everyone roughly $20 to spend on the menu, which should be enough for an appetizer and an entree. The venue has agreed to serve alcoholic beverages separately, on separate tabs - so you boozers don't have to worry about that part.
Share your thoughts, and let us know if you think this will be the safest and easiest way to proceed with this. We want this to be a great sendoff here for all our friends, and we obviously want to all hang out and wind down from a tremendous weekend!

Birthday Journal...COMMENCE! There have been quite a few awesome people that have been having birthday's in the last couple weeks, and I want to make mention to them here because, yeah I can. This is a journal regarding the people that I have met in real life from the site.
I first met @Volt at RTX 2011, and even though I know we spent some time together prior to this, but the first real memory that I have of him and I hanging out was when we all played Cards Against Humanity in his hotel room that Saturday night. We've hung out on the site through Rooster Speak and other means plenty of times after that, and they've been an absolute blast. Last year's RTX I got to spend some more time with him and the Cali crew at the Iron Cactus, and it's easily one of the best highlights of that weekend for me because we were able to catch up on many things, also we got to make fun of Marsh for not being there constantly. Hope you had a tremendous one Volt...you damn cow lovin bastard!
Turns out @Iceman4264 lives about a mile away from my childhood home, and even went to the same school as me. I first met Phil at the first RT MN that we held back in August of 2011, and I think the first thing we discussed was a challenge of Dance Central to try and prove who was the whitest of the two of us. This challenge has yet to happen, and I demand it does soon! He is now a part of the organizing team for RT MN, and I couldn't ask for a nicer dude to help out and plan this growing event that I helped kick back into gear! Also he's a week older than me, and that makes him an old fart. How you didn't break your hip old man!
@Doppsgrl was kind enough to allow her husband to share a hotel bedroom in a different state with me for an entire weekend. I met her when Dopp and I came back to Tennessee after RTX, and one of the things that will stick with me in regards to that night was her reaction to my giant sunburn that I got during the zombie shoot. She was even nice enough to offer some Aloe, but it was after I left! I can't wait to hang out with you again, Megan, this coming July again. I'll be sure to bring sun screen this time! Hope you had a great birthday!
I first met @Lynxxon over on the Rooster Speak server, and we met in real life last year's RTX. First thing we did was hug, then he got down on the ground and told me I had to pick him up from a lying down position in order to settle a bet that we had made. After a 19 hour car ride coming down from Minnesota and being insanely tired, I ended up toppling over him and just busted out laughing in a pile of awesome. I know that was his main ploy, and he enjoys me on top ;). Lynx is easily one of the nicest people that I have met on this site, and I don't think I can express that enough without people really knowing what I'm talking about. Seriously, this man is awesome and I can't wait to hang out with him again soon! Hope you had a great birthday man, and hopefully this year will be amazing for ya!
@AYAPA!!!! You were kind enough to allow Dopp, Botkin, John, and myself into your apartment and cooked us some freaking awesome food along with the infamous poppers! I remember your reaction to me putting one of them in my beer to cool it down, and how much you couldn't stop shaking your head in confusion. You were also nice enough to provide me some Claritin due to your silly cat! We seriously need to hang out and celebrate your bday this summer. Hopefully we can!
@Dacuban will be the kid that I end up adopting/kidnapping when the time is right. I've gotten the go-ahead from this father already, and as long as I pay child support he is okay with it. I first met this little bundle of 17 year old joy at the Cedar Door during a live Weekly Speak podcast last RTX, and instantly picked him up and gave him a big hug. I've grown to have a lot of respect for this kid, I still can't believe this little guy has the mentality that he has on certain topics and the discussions that I've shared with him over on RS have switched from being hysterical to serious in mere moments, also poptarts on the toilet. It's his birthday today, and he best get all the gold to wrap around his neck that he can handle!
@ChrisBotkin will forever be the man that I will sleep with at RTX. It honestly can't happen any other way, and it will happen again this year to make it three years running! I first met Botkin coming back from a house party the Thursday before the first RTX, where I said "Oh boy" in the Mickey Mouse voice and he just responded with "Oh goddammit!" and I just jumped into the bed that he was sitting in. We've shared endless amounts of laughs together, and I consider this sexy little beast a brother that I never had. I hope your birthday tomorrow is amazing, and we need to hug again as soon as possible!
If you haven't wished these people a happy birthday yet, do it now! Love you all, and here's to the next time we see each other! You're all older now, and should accept that you are either a fourth of the way through an amazing life, or at the end of a really short one. (I stole that from Louis CK, and I don't care.)
