FirefoxWell, I've been using Firefox for a while now. It is one hell of a browser, but there are a few drawbacks. Here's my take on it. Up Side: -WeatherFox is better than any weather program you can think of. Very handy plugin. -Highlight a URL that isn't a link. Drag it. Now it's open in a new tab. Awesome. -You can highlight text on the forums here, unlike in IE where you have to highlight a whole post. -very fast, very low resource use. -right click, refersh isn't next to print. you have no idea how many times I hit print by accident before.
Down side: -There are some page loading errors. I get them occasionally on the forums here, and Exchange Server 2003 Webmail is totally fucked up. -I liked being able to save a set of tabs in Maxthon as a group. -The skins aren't as cool as myIE2/Maxthon. -It did crash on me once.
all in all, definately a keeper, but you can't lose IE (or something on that engine, like Maxthon) all together.

Meatballs.Another day in the life of Mark. I decided, since I was cooking dinner for Krystal, that I'd stray from the usual meat sauce and go with meatballs. I called my mom, got her instructions, went to the store, got all the necessities, and began.
I mixed the egg and breadcrumbs with the meat, per instructions. I formed little balls. They went in the pan. Then I began looking for my tongs.
Where the fuck are my tongs?!
Alright, time to improvise. I've got a spoon. All the spatulas are dirty...crap. I know! Chopsticks! So I began turning the meatballs with the chopsticks. End result? Half meat pyramids, half crumbled meatballs. I think my cooking ineptitude is showing...badly.

My New Laptop - IBM T42Just got my new laptop, still in the process of seting up and transferring stuff to it. Here are my initial impressions: Stuff I like: -Keyboard: this is like desktop quality. it's even better than a powerbook keyboard (IMO one of the other best quality keyboards out there) -touchpad: it's a good texture. I know that sounds weird, but some touchpads drive me nuts (like Gateway ones) -The keyboard has back/forward buttons for IE right by the arrow keys. -amazingly small for a 14" laptop. -very lightweight. -the built in LED keyboard light is cool. not quite backlit keyboard cool, but still very cool. I've already used it. the built in CDRW-DVD is ultraslim. very handy. -It stays way, way cooler than almost any other laptop I've encountered. -the Pentium M 1.5 is a big speed boost over the Pentium IIIm 1.333, the PM really does perform like a processor .5-1 ghz faster. -the little scroll button is cool, but not sure how much I'll use it.
Gripes: -The touchpad buttons are a bit squishy. -I wish the delete and pg up/down keys were at the bottom of the keyboard like on all the other laptops I've had. -The trackpoint is kinda annoying. I don't use it, so it's just in the way. -I kinda wish the higher res screen and bigger HD has been an option in this package deal, as I'm already down to like 14 gigs free (IBM puts a lot of stuff on the HD) -Some icons are a little blurry. not sure if it's just a setting I have wrong, though. normally, a radeon 7500 mobile should be able to render anything like that just fine.
All in all, I really like this laptop. I will be selling my tablet PC soon, PM me if you're interested. It is a tablet, so it's a bit more pricey than just a laptop, but it does have accidental damage coverage through July 2006, so you're getting a pretty good deal all said and done.

Otogi 2If you have an xbox, you shoulg get this game. I think IGN put it best in describing it as an "ass kicking festival." For those of you who haven't played the original, the jist of the game is: go into level, destroy everything. The environments are totally destructable, and in the sequel, the physics engine has been updated, so enemies bounce all over the place when hit hard enough.
Otogi 2 gives you 6 characters rather than just 1. There are multiple unlockables per character (3+ weapons and costumes). This gives all of the 26 levels quite a bit a replayability to find everything. And there are a bunch of bonus levels, which are a fun challenge.
Bottom Line: This will keep you entertianed through November 8, and the game is well worth the $39.99.

Anyone else tired of the bees?I gave up on ilovebees.com on about, oh, August 28. Why? Too complex for too little return. IGN just did another redux on the situation, which boils down to "it's a couple stories about a couple different people that we still aren't sure how it ties into Halo 2." Oh, well. I suppose maybe it'll wrap up in the next couple weeks before the big release, and then it will make sense. Or maybe it won't, and we'll all just be confused forever. But that's not the point. The real question is "Is this the future? Are we going to get some wild campaign like this for even more video game releases?" It's starting to look like it. Thanks to some help from IGN, I ran acorss the following sites. Check them out Channel51.org -- watch the videos Orbis Labs -- look familliar? ilovebeams.com iloveskis.com ilovekeys.com iloveknees.comYes, well, think what you like. Instead of months of web conspiracies, can I just play the games now? I already know I'm getting them both, I already know I'm playing them both. Moreover, why do this for the MOST hyped, publicised games? You know they're going to sell a ton of units. There's one game that needs some publicity, but still isn't getting much of any: Otogi 2. Wouldn't the ROI on a less publicised game be much larger in a campaign like this than the ROI for an already well known game? Headcolds and Hong KongSo I've still got this magical mystery disease. I'm still not stuffy. I'm still coughing. I still bounce in and out of fever. And now I get tired as all hell in a matter of hours. It's kind of annoying, really. But these symptoms don't match any condition I've been able to find on WebMD...so it's either a cold or the plague. Anyway, remember that laptop I ordered? Yeah, the new T42. Well, as of Saturday, the ship date was 11/8. Last night, 11:45 or so, I hear the familiar noise of my e-mail (I was laying down watching adult swim. If you can't figure out why, you obviously skipped the first paragraph). I picked up my laptop, and lo and behold: Dear Customer, Thank you for choosing IBM! All or part of your order has shipped. In some instances your order may beshipped from more than one location, which will result in multiple notifications. Products in this shipment are listed below. You will only be invoiced for products that have shipped. You may check its status by visiting the web site below: (Shipment tracking numbers, if applicable, will be posted to the web site within 24 hours.) Better still, it was sent 2nd day air (I had only paid for ground) at no additional charge to me. So this morning, I checked again to get the tracking number. Well, on the summary page, I saw something from UPS I hadn't seen before. Status: Express Delivery Confirmed. "What the fuck?" I've tracked many a package, and never seen that one before. So I clicked details, to see something else I hadn't seen before: Oct 18, 2004 3:03 P.M. KOWLOON BAY, HK PICKUP SCAN Yeah, shipping direct from Hong Kong. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I suppose I'll find out in a couple days, when I'll be gleefully locking threads from a new laptop. Oh, and a sidenote. Otogi 2 comes out this Wednesday, and it's only $39.99. If you have an xbox, go buy it so there will be an Otogi 3. You'll thank me later.
