Project Cock ByteLast week I was contacted by InfernoofWar on this site about taking part in a community project. The concept is a fan-made video game based on the RoosterTeeth offices, dubbed Project Cock Byte (or PCB). Right now, we're getting together a number of programmers, artists, graphics designers, writers, musicians and animators to collaborate on this project. As of now, we're only in the concept stages of the project, but we hope to get a working demo out by the time RTX rolls around, so we've got about 50 days. This should be an interesting learning experience, especially for someone like me who could use some practice in programming.
For more information, you can check out the project's group here. Any support would be much appreciated. And we're always looking for people to help work on the project.
Freshman Year Comes to a CloseWell, last Friday was my last day of finals. That's one year down, and another 3 or 4 more to go (depending on if I choose to get a Master's). Now it's time for 4 months of summer vacation. I've gotta find some ways to fill in the time.
One YearFor the longest time I thought I signed up in January of last year, until I stopped being an idiot and looked at my profile. It's a bit overdue, but what the hell? It's been a year since I joined the RT community. So, what's happened in that year?
I became an Eagle Scout. I got a 4 out of 5 on my AP Physics test. I graduated high school and got accepted to two colleges. Chose Rowan. And survived my first semester with a 3.87 GPA. Sounds like a good year to me.
The Old RepublicYou know, I'm not much of a PC gamer. I find controllers to be more effective for me than a mouse & keyboard. But I got SWTOR for Christmas, and every day I've been playing it for like 10+ hours. My main character is a level 24 Jedi Guardian.
If you ever want to party up with me (though I doubt many, if any, people actually look at this) my name is Hikaru in the Shadowlands server.
FinalsIt's finals week here at Rowan University. I took my first one in Intro to Object-Oriented Programming earlier today, and I'm pretty sure I aced it. Tomorrow is Discrete Structures and Monday is Calculus. I'm not worried about calc, it's my easiest class. Discrete, on the other hand, is a bit of a pain in the ass.
I'm just glad I don't have discrete for 3 hours in one day anymore....
Computer Science ProjectRecently, I've been spending time in my IOOP (Intro to Object Oriented Programming) class creating a text-based adventure game. It seems like making this game has been more addicting than actually playing some games.
I'm almost done the third version of the game (other versions had a lot of bugs), so if anyone wants to play it, I'll send you the java files. Make sure you keep them all in one folder. They're in BlueJ, a program my class uses to code and compile, but if you don't feel like downloading it, I've made it like original text games. You can use the command prompt to open the project and play the Game class. If you're interested in playing, but get stuck trying to play it, let me know and I'll walk you through it.
