Three weeks and (not really) counting...I just realized today that it's my birthday this month....
Then I had to sit and try to figure out exactly at what point in my life did my own date of birth stop mattering to me. I can remember a time when I used to really look forward to my birthday. What happened to that?
I think it happened when I turned 20. That's the last time I can remember really enjoying myself on my b-day. Oh sure, I went out to drink for good ol' 21 but I didn't particularly enjoy myself. Bars/clubs are just too loud and smoky and the drinks are just too strong for my froufrou tastes I suppose.
This year I'm not even sure if I'll bother taking the day off (since the 23rd lands on a Saturday this year...) Yay, 12 hours of work seams like a wonderful non-celebration of my birth.
Blah--- Maybe I'm just feeling down today. I'll have to get back to me in a few days and see how I feel then...
