FAQs and Friending PolicyFriending PolicyFirst off, I don't accept random friend requests. If I've never seen or heard of you, then you don't have a snowball's chance in hell of becoming my friend. If you want to become my friend, then I have a few criteria:

I must have at least seen you around the forum.

You must be at least trying to put thought into your posts.

You must use proper spelling and grammar (or at least be trying to).
If you do all this, then I will have no reason to deny your friend request. If you're new to the forum, then I probably won't accept a friend request right away. If you send me one and I deny it, just wait a little while and try again. I'll usually accept once I've gotten a feel for someone. Or if you impress me somehow. It's been known to happen.
FAQs
Who are you?I'm a grad student at the University of Texas at Austin who's working on a Masters degree in Information Science.
What does that mean?I'll be a 21st century librarian.
What was your undergraduate major?Music. Because I survived three semesters of music theory. I play(ed) the clarinet. I minored in History.
Why don't I ever see you on the forum anymore?Life is getting busier and busier. As such, my time on the forum is less and less. I still watch a lot, though.
Where did you get your screen name? It's actually from Anne McCafferey's "Dragonriders of Pern" series. It's the name of one of the minor green dragons and for some reason, that name has always stayed in my head. When it comes to picking a screen name, I've found that its rare for someone else to have already taken it.
New questions!
What would you classify as a great novel to read?Well, "The Lord of the Rings" is always going to be the first book to come to mind. But I also know that not everyone can get into the Professor's writing style. So I'd also have to recommend Jane Austin's books (especially "Sense and Sensibility" and "Pride and Prejudice"). If you're looking for something fun, go pick up "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. It's absolutely brilliant and you'll be howling with laughter ever other page.
Who is your favorite Red Vs Blue Character?Definitely Grif. Church is a close second. Apparently, my laziness is equal to Grif's. And so what if I end up sitting in a dark room because I don't want to bother getting up to turn on the light? I
like the darkness! And someone always comes by and turns it on for me!
What makes you, you?Talk about existential! Well, it's everything. *blinks blankly* It's my past, the choices I've made, how I was raised. It's being the middle child growing up in the suburbs. It's having taking ballet lessons for seven years and a lifelong enjoyment of Fine Arts. It's an obsession with books and a crazy little white dog and long car trips to visit family. It's who my sisters are and my parents, grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts. It isn't any one thing but an amalgamation of all things around me. I am the sum of my parts and influences and at the same time more than that.
Did that answer your question?
Whats your great achievement so far?Well, if I may be permitted to refer to something coming up in a few months, it would be graduating from college and getting accepted into grad school. If we're talking
right now, then it's succeeding at living away from home for an entire year (with the occasional visit). I've had friends and family to support me, but I've been up here in North Texas for well over a year now. I think that's pretty cool, don't you?
Sarge or Caboose?Oh, that's right, ask the hard ones! *huffs* Well, if I must chose
one, then I'll take Caboose. He's just so damn adorable! But I'd prefer to have him
and Sarge! They're so cute together (and you can read that any way you like).
