Smooth move, ex-lax

I got home from driving the boy to school and was lounging in bed petting Sparky (the devil cat) and he was purring and purring and his eyes were slowly closing, and his head started drooping... and his eyes closed a little more... and he kept purring... and his head drooped more... and a little more... and his eyes closed a little more...

...and then he fell off the bed.

They're supposed to be so graceful, though. No wonder he is always so agitated. He relaxes for a moment and, bang!, he is suddenly falling off of something.
