non-modern warfare related newsAll week long, every discussion, podcast, web site, banner ad, newspaper (they still make those?), radio station, tv commercial, and so forth has touch upon the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release. Having decided NOT to play the game until I actually have time to do so, keeping away from spoilers and video has been almost impossible. I've already watched Jack play through most of the game at least twice. It looks awesome.

So as a change of pace, here's a nice sweet little music video my brother and I did for our friend David Wingo (under the band name Ola Podrida). The album and video were just released this week:

Nice video. Was it difficult to film ? Have to do lots of takes ? It looks flawless, like she did not mess up once, but that would be a miracle ! The music was really nice, not what I normally listen to, but pretty cool nontheless.

I remember back when me and my unit was stationed at Ding Dang twenty clicks outside of Ning Nang. It was five minutes to 00:00, and the mood was getting tense. Your Uncle Jerry had drunk all our Red Bulls on our way to the game release, and we had to keep ourselves awake with nothing more than Mountain Dews, Bawls, 5 hr Energy Drinks, soda, coffee, caffeinated gum, heroine and some crack that turned out to be chalk scraped off an eraser. We'll never forget that release night, and the way that our enemies assailed us, leering at us, attempting to demoralize us with their battle cries, "Go home." Our telecommunications channels were jammed, continuously being fed white noise by our enemies in the form of calls including, "your son just hit his head on the kitchen table, you need to bring him to get stitches NOW!" and other such nonsense that we knew to be traps or best not looked on as we dug deep into our media blanketed cluster fuck that we called The Line. It was a fine line you walked, between player and gamer. And let me tell you, son: on that night, and for the glorious 82 consecutive hours that we played CoD:MW2, we were gamers. We were gamers.

War <games> are hell, son.
